Still worried about this. If 17th June doesn't have a news story saying he's signed a pro deal I'm going to be a nervous wreck from that date forward
new ownership and new focus on their youth academy now though. the hope is he sees himself above being Man Utd's PL2 poster boy
You're going on ignore now mate, you've literally reached the point of quoting your own posts when trying to talk to me. If you want to take up my offer let someone else know and they can DM me. ----------------------------------------------------- As for Rigg, I'm certain he will sign given the amount of time we've given him this season, especially in the latter part of the season. He will likely get a buy-out clause in his deal as well, so I'd say we get another season, possibly two from him at a maximum.
I wonder what the tribunal would set his fee at should he decide to sign elsewhere. There's not much precedent for a player having this many championship level games and youth international appearances, at a club he's been at since very young. He could genuinely go for a "world record" tribunal fee. Mind you I think the record is as low as £4.5m that Fulham got for Harvey Elliot from Liverpool.
Danny Ings went for £6.5m when moving from Burnley to Liverpool. I don't think there's a precedent we can look at for Rigg to see what sort of deal we'd get. What seems to happen is the initial fee is lower than we'd like but the back-end tends to make up for it, also the length of tenure matters and I believe Rigg has been with us for over 5 years, he's a youth international, has a lot of appearances in the first team now and is wanted by a line up of big clubs. I think we'd probably get £5-8m up front and as much as £10m on the back-end with a modest sell-on fee. We'd do better if we get him to sign pro-forms and gave him a lot of games next season, he would probably be worth £20m or more that way.
I think people need to learn that if its outside of their control, dont waste energy getting het up about it, just wasting energy and raising your blood pressure, same with the new head coach, its out of our hands, just lets see what happens.
The playoff semi final first leg vs Luton was a year ago today so I decided to watch it again and the conclusion I came to is that I'd bring Gelhardt back tomorrow. Only had one shot BUT his work off the ball was excellent and his link play was so good. His movement and ability to link play made Amad, Clarke and Pritch in this game so much more effective. Don't need to score as a striker to be effective.
