Yes. Saw him against Bwood and he looked young and small if it’s the same one but had a very good game and will cost someone next to nothing.
Andre Dozzell has left. The 25-year-old joined the R’s from Ipswich Town ahead of the 2021/22 season. He spent the second half of the current campaign on loan at Birmingham City. During his time in west London, the midfielder made 98 appearances in all competitions for QPR, scoring twice. CEO Christian Nourry said: “Andre played an important role for the football club in the first half of the season and we will be forever grateful for the contributions he made. “A difficult decision was made in January, linked to the club’s financial realities and other market priorities, in a move that was additionally designed to afford Andre more starting football. “We wish him all the very best for the future.”
Struggled to get game time in a relegated side. Future looks a bit crap now. Maybe his Dad has another mate to lend him to.
Could be a good scrum half. Lots of sideways and backwards passing. Will be interested to see if a decent club again takes a punt on him as he’s not really cut out for the lower leagues.
That's surprising. Of those, two forwards Rafferty Pedder and Nathan Jeche looked promising with Jeche recently picking up the player of the season award, with Pedder a close second. I wonder what the thinking is behind this?
Does seem a bit strange, they did well until the last part of the season. Interesting to see what happens next. I think EBD & Kolli will be getting some chances next season...
Seems we're being ruthless which is probably long overdue. Surprised by Pedder though, always looked good and seemed to be skirting the edges of the first team squad.
Nourry seems to be taking a lot of ownership with all the announcements which is good to see. Looks like we’re seeing the review of playing staff that we all have wanted to see. Undoubtedly some good/hard decisions made and the odd one we will look back on as a miss. But at least we are making the hard decisions as a positive rebuild.
Came on once as a sub in the cup this January . He seemed to do well in the development squad too, but it is a hell of a jump to playing week in, week out in Championship. I assume that the reasoning is that if he gets game time in league 2, he could work his way back up again. At QPR next year he will not get a look in ...and then he will be 23 and still playing against boys in the development team A bit like our ex loanee Jack Clarke at Sunderland
I watched the development team against Birmingham a few weeks ago, lost 2-0 and it really did look men against boys. Both Pedder & Alfie Lloyd went off injured so couldn't judge them. I'm surprised Samuel Sackey is moving on, for me he looked a cut above the rest, still a huge jump to the first team though. Guess its better than holding on to them until their mid-twenties and still not making it though, maybe we've been too generous in the past.
Indeed. We kept Charlie Owens on forever. Borehamwood took him aged 25 when we finally got rid and he played four games and disappeared. Someone on their Facebook group said he was playing lower down but no sign of it online so either he can’t get close to a relegated Conference side or he’s playing almost amateur football and we kept him on a contract for at least three years too long. Shodipo should have had a testimonial.
Always liked popping down Borehamwood and spotting a junior player we'd released years earlier. Bruno Andrade was there, does Balanta still play for them?
Seems lots of noise about JCS to Celtic, the chance of Champions League games may swing it as they're confident of meeting asking price...
