Couldn’t quite believe there was a portion of our fans booing on the final whistle and then offering out other fans who told them it was pathetic
Jesus!, I despair of our fans sometimes, sounds like the yoof element who obviously don't remember before the Liebherr/Cortese years.
From my recent away experiences, its a very entitled (and very youthful) away following that we seem to be attracting. Young lads just coming out of school who thought we'd piss the championship and throw around abuse when it doesnt go that way.
Wonder if he's related to the Nigerian Prince I spoke with before? He promised me a return on his investment money I lent him.
I think so, I've been in touch with his sister who needs some funds to release a valuable consignment from customs.
The worst player by a country mile was Stephens, Armstrong was also bad but not on the same level as Stephens. They were the only players I’d say had a bad game. Smallbone was also poor but everyone else was basically average in my view
Bit patronising, we all think we understand the game. I played to a decent level (representative football in the forces) I thought Mara looked vacant and disinterested today.
Got back home about 30 mins ago. I wouldn't say he was 'good' but I thought he competed and put himself about. Won some fouls. Not much more but I wouldn't accuse him of not being interested. Even still, hopefully Che can start on Friday (or we can squeeze an hour out of Stewart...)
If we can squeeze as much as an hour out of Stewart though, would it be better for that to be the first hour or (potentially) the second hour?
Not really talking about the people on here, I'm talking about the people posting on the Saints socials (probably the same folk who were booing at the end of the game). I agree with DTLW - I wouldn't say he was 'good', but as I said, I thought he did fine, no better or worse than the others. So to be singling him out especially for criticism is just confirmation bias going on. It's as predictable as it is wrong. Of course we'd have been better off with a fit Stewart or Che - we all know that. But the kid doesn't deserve the brickbats being thrown based on that game (which is the point). He looked better than Adarma today, who couldn't trap a bag of cement over that ninety.
Stephens, Manning, Aribo, Mara and Armstrong. I thought they were all poor. I'm not sure it's worth debating who was the worst, because it's largely irrelevant - a poor performance is a poor performance. What I found particularly concerning though is how little the bench excited me. Whether because of players being injured, out of form, or - in Stewart's case - lacking match fitness, I didn't see many viable options there.
