Not for me. Hull City badly underachieved, given the squad they had, particularly second half of the season.

Won just 3 of their final 13 games.

Agree. They were in the playoff spots in January, they went for it in the market and then they didn't finish above the line.

    Incredibly harsh decision imo.

I would say Hull finished where I expected them to. He neither under-achieved nor over-achieved. Yes they have a decent squad, and it's better than probably every side below them, but I'm not convinced that it's better than any of the top six.

Yes, Hull drew too many games, and that has ultimately cost them. But I really don't see how they can justify sacking him. I would happily take him next year, if we don't go up.

Norwich had horrendous luck with injuries during autumn, so that maybe that helped to slightly inflate Hull's league position back then. But over the past four months, with most of their players back, Norwich have been excellent (only four losses in 2024 - being away to Leeds and Leicester, playing with 10 men away to Boro, and a last day away game vs Brum who had far more to play for). I don't see it as a failure by Hull that Norwich ultimately managed to retake that 6th play-off spot.

Of their 23 games played at home this season, Hull won just 8 times.

Sure their away form almost made up for it, but 8 from 23 at home is shocking for a squad of that quality.

I don’t think their squad is as good you’re making it out to be. They have a few potential gems, but they’re young players. Wouldn’t say the rest of the team is anywhere near the standard of battling for promotion. First top half finish for Hull in a number of years and he’s been binned <laugh>

Disagree. Jacob Greaves in EFL Team of the Season at CB. Fabio Carvalho and Philogene two of the best attackers in the division.

Morton is quality in CM. Plus Tufan, Zaroury, Giles at LB.

I see that Sky have released a bit more detail about how the new EFL TV deal will work next season.

Of the 10 regular weekend televised EFL matches (five x Championship, five x L1 & L2), seven of them will kick-off at 12.30 - including three of the Championship matches.

I can't see any word about when the other two Championship matches will kick-off each weekend, but my guess is that 8pm on Friday and 12.30 on Sunday are the two most likely slots (except when there's a PL match on the Friday night, in which case the Championship match might be moved to Monday night instead). Just a guess.

So if we don't get promoted, we can say goodbye to a lot of 3pm KOs next season.

All opening day, closing day, midweek, and bank holiday matches will be on Sky. Every Championship team will be on Sky a minimum of 24 times each.

We'll get more than if we went up. Saturday 3pms in the premier league are gold dust because they moved them for clubs in Europe as well as for the never ending tv demands

We all in the Norwich camp today?
I know we did the double over Leeds and drew twice with Norwich but I think I would rather face Norwich at Wembley - especially if Sargent picks up a knock and misses the game.

Norwich have started alright. Probably should be 1-0 up.

I’m neutral on this one for two reasons

    1. We may not make Wembley
    2. If I want one to win and we do get to Wembley they will probably beat us.

So far it's been one of those games which has been a decent-enough watch, but where you would struggle to put together a highlights package.

It's when the camera pans over the crowd, and zooms in on spectators, that you realise they're barrel-scraping

If there was one player who Norwich really couldn't afford to lose to injury, it's Sargent. I wonder how bad it is.
