My own view is that the actions of governments should never be allowed to impact something like a 'celebratory' international song competition - normal people can do very little, in reality, to stop the actions of brutal expansionist regimes - but the contest does provide the opportunity for artists and people to demonstrate being human and that we shouldn't judge a whole people by the actions of their leaders ... Sanctions don't punish regimes - merely the poor ****ers living in them..

It's always been the simple truth, if you send a good song you get votes. It's not complicated. Even if you can't sing, being entertaining is sometimes enough. People scoff Ukraine finished high.
