This would make sense. If we are now going to be playing more to Oscar's liking than its like signing a free striker.

Wouldn't be a good look for this past season though if he starts scoring again.

He's proved he can score in the champ and if we can get him scoring 12 again next season then it's really going to help

Tbf I don’t think Óscar would suit Walter either. That Glatzel for Hamburg seems to do a bit of everything and isn’t just a target man, a poacher, a ‘false 9’ or someone who runs in behind. He looked like a forward who did all of the above. Delap’s quite similar.

It’s not nonsense. His possession based football didn’t work at home as it relied on teams pressing us further up the pitch they didn’t they sat he had no plan B.
Away from home the incentive was for the home team to attack so pressed us further up the pitch which created spaced to play through the lines.
Plus he had individuals in Fabio & Jaden who could create something out of nothing.

How do you think Ohio might do in Walter's team?

Delap would be a brilliant signing but don’t Man City want 10m

I think that's something I'm most curious about in terms of what happened in the final chat. Because there was a clear change towards the direction that Acun wanted. It doesn't seem to make sense that we would get to the end of the season and all of a sudden Rosie is too stubborn as he would surely have rejected the requests for a change of style in the first instance.

Acun mentioned he doesn't feel it's right to ask someone to change their philosophy so maybe it's as simple as that but personally I would be inclined to allow for a young coach to adapt providing they show a willingness to do so.

I think if he improved his first touch and build-up play in general, he’d be someone who might be worth the investment as he’s still young. Ideally, Delap, a more experienced forward but not over the hill like Sharp and possibly Ohio would be good options.

I know he didn't set the world alight at Cardiff but I would be pretty happy going for Glatzel from what I have watched of him. I saw a Cardiff fan saying he didn't suit their style but showed he had quality and excellent finishing.

Let’s twist that around shall we?

your German friend asks what Rosenior is like as a manager. You tell him he’s a fantastic young coach who has engineered some of the best football ever seen at City.
He tells all his mates. It must be true. I’ve heard it directly from a long standing City fan.
But let’s assume Herman the German was my mate.
He would be telling all his mates that Roseniors style of football was pedestrian, predictable, overly cautious and struggled to break defences down.
    Opinions innit?

He is, in football jargon terms, a ‘complete forward’ rather than a specialist. Decent finishing, can drop deep to be involved in build-up, can hold the ball up and even make runs in behind on the counter. Glatzel, Delap and Ohio would be decent forward options for next season. I don’t know how much Hamburg would want for Glatzel though.

Also I can’t help thinking that if you were Delap you’d know you’d won over City fans and were regarded as a ‘success’ that was only marred by injury.
Why come back here? Surely you can only go down in peoples estimations so why not go and try and win over another club, and the same time proving to other, bigger, clubs that you can do it in different teams with different players?
I’d love it if we got him, but I can’t imagine we will for these reasons. (and the large fee too…and the fact he knows the manager has changed so the way the team play will too)

Yeah, reminds me a bit of a poor mans Benzema with shades of Abel Hernandez. I would imagine the fee would represent pretty good value for money.

"Liam Rosenior had an inkling of what was coming his way when he made the familiar journey into the MKM Stadium on Tuesday to meet Ilicali and vice-chairman Tan Kesler, he knew things behind the scenes were not right and that a previously harmonious relationship had become strained, the pair no longer spoke as regularly as they had done previously."
