A lot of folk on here would like the action and wouldn't mind if we didn't get promoted. Don't think Acun sees it that way though.
Oh right so if I told you I've spoken to multiple coaches and managers I know in the game and they all say really good things about him, then you should just listen and if you don't then say you're just burying your head in the sand? If you want to write someone off before they have even been announced based on one radio guy then crack on. I prefer to actually judge people on merit and if he's crap then so be it, but if he's not then fantastic.
What I find particularly bizarre is people saying Rosenior was adapting and so we should have kept him but Walter with more experience is going to play the same football exactly as he did in the Bundesliga.2 and not adapt.
They've got the guy they want as he will stop the boredom that obviously upsets them and some of our support so much
I think it's the same as what everyone has said. We've all seen years and years of Championship football and there's not been any/many teams who've got promoted with an expansive style that don't have a massive budget to go along with it. As long as we don't get relegated, it's not a massive issue
Didn't all the multiple coaches and managers you spoke to say we had a ton of options as people were keen on the job? But we've ended up with the guy linked from the start?
If you honestly don't believe lots of people will have applied then you're even more stupid then you make yourself look. I'm pretty sure a fair few of the applicants we all would have taken over this guy ( if he gets it ) but we aren't the owner of the club, we aren't appointing the new coach etc.
There’s absolutely no way that if Rosenior was still here next season and we were playing more attacking football but in mid table or lower - people would have got off his back. We need to give time to the new manager to settle but expectations will and should be high.
I think if I believed half the things you attribute to nameless chats with people in the industry I'd be pretty stupid. Especially when almost all of them end up looking like pretty dumb claims when more context emerges. If we had plenty of other applicants and the owner still picked a second division German failure then we're in for a world of hurt.
Happened with his second appointment as well whose only job was 4 months with a league 1 side, turned out alright? Also why does it matter what level he’s coaching at? Bundesliga 2 isn’t that far off the championship quality wise considering the disparity in funding
Rosenior was appointed mid-season when it's much tougher to find a manager (although Corberan was available if we were slightly quicker and more decisive). We now have a chance to appoint almost anyone (if we can believe that good quality managers have applied) and even guys like Rohl who are still in a job are much more gettable than they would be mid-season. It matters because it's an incredibly different league in terms of number of fixtures, quality of players and style of play, and we need a manager to hit the ground running. If he'd been successful in the second famrers league then that's a bit better but he wasn't even successful.
Maybe we are and maybe we'll get top 6 next season, the point is, we don't have a clue as of yet and writing someone off with absolutely zero evidence is just daft at best. Just look at the post someone put up yesterday, showing all the posts people made out LR when he was linked/first came and now some of those same people are saying is wrong to get rid of him etc.... it just proves, as I say, we have zero idea how it'll work out As for believing half the things I say, don't then... Go for a quarter
Good thing before he was even linked I was on here saying we should go for him, so I don't have to look like a Harry Hindsight supporting Rosenior! My point being if as you claim we had a range of high quality candidates, the idea that we've settled for someone with no impressive points on his CV other than 'can get his team scoring lots of goals' it's a bit of a problem. I'd still be believing so much BS though.
