I saw briefly yesterday on BBC News that Prince William was down your way, went on some nice looking beach area.

 

My whole team has been made redundant which is a bit ****ty but got a 3 month notice plus a couple of weeks tax-free on top and free to go from next week so not all bad. More time for gym and Euros and hopefully land something fairly quick without needing to jump into the first thing that comes along. Oh well.

 

I've been made redundant numerous times, nice when it's this time of year and for the reasons you've given - especially if it is paid 3 months notice with garden leave. New tax year as well, so shouldn't really take anything, but knowing HMRC they probably will, shhites. Age is applicable to redundancy as well, over 41, they have to apply more...

I am not over 41 fortunately. But yeah it’s chill. Get June, July and August money in June so it’s not even gardening leave. It’ll be fine. Going away next Friday then I’ll have a proper look but loads of stuff on LinkedIn.

Sorry to hear this, did you have any idea it was coming?
My own company has just announced a “streamlining” of its global business with a net result of a 5% reduction in headcount, which is around 2500 globally. In my case, I’ve just rejoined the gym so I can be fit enough to be the first to HR if any redundancies head down to my level.

Picked the right weather for it. It’s beautiful down here today. I’m currently in my office enjoying the best of it

off to Dartmoor on Sunday for a 4 day bike packing trip and the weather is looking ****in gash lol

 

Yeah the board ousted the CEO about three weeks after I joined which wasn’t a great sign although he was mental then let a few other people around my level or a bit higher go around Xmas. It’s a shame because it’s just cash flow. Had to leave a lot of sales because they couldn’t get the cash to make it which again isn’t a great sign and gets into a bad cycle and I’m senior enough for it to make a difference to the cash.

But my outgoings are low and I’ve got a few quid. My boss has just taken on a masssive mortgage and has young kids.
