I’ll have a look. I do love a top lead guitarist who can also perform his songs really well on acoustic. Doug Aldrich is a fine example.
Jimmy Page is good on accoustic, I'd say Johnny Marr is better on accoustic than electric; he has played with Bert Jansch (my favourite guitarist) so must be good. Even Keith Richard ain't too shabby. They are two different instruments, and it's hard to make the leap, even the great John Williams was pretty poor when he dabbled with electric while he played with Sky. If you've never listened to Django Rheinhardt it's the perfect example of someone who made the leap.
Rory Gallagher was my favourite guitarist. When Jimi Hendrix was asked what it felt like to be the best guitarist. He said you had better ask Rory Gallagher.

Just watched the two new Dr Who episodes. For anyone who thought it couldn't get any stranger, it has truly disappeared down the rabbit hole Ironic that they've brought back the old 1970's logo, since the programme now has no remaining resemblance to its early days. Granted I'm getting old, and the show is obviously aimed at youngsters. If its current audience decides they love it, fair enough. But I don't think this series will herald the big comeback. Maybe it's time the show took another 15 year break.
"The Piano" is the best TV program for years. The episode from EDinburgh Waverley station a couple of nights ago was the best yet. Absolutely superb. The 10-year kid from Hong Kong- Wow!
Got to admit, after watching tonight's episode 'Boom' this new series is beginning to grow on me. So far we've seen 4 episodes from the new season; The Church on Ruby Road - daft. Technically well made, but Goblins? Straight out of Lord of the Rings. Space Babies - Just silly. The Devil's Chord - the drag queen villain didn't cut it for me. But had a couple of nice moments, like the Beatles singing about their dog Boom - Quite watchable if not very original. Flawed in places but as a whole I quite liked it. Perhaps all is not lost... It's starting to look better than the Jodie Whittaker era - though that's a pretty low bar to clear.
I got Boom mixed up for Boon. Anyway, I always liked Mr Elphick, his gravely voice could have been used well doing Karaoke on Rod Stewart numbers.

Piers Morgan and Nigel Farage on Question Time this evening Great entertainment. I actually thought Piers made a few good points.
Any mention of this Reform/Tory pact. I can’t see it being true myself and would be very disappointed if it were. Would just take away even more choice.
Not that I recall. Piers really tore into Nigel a couple of times - two weasels fighting in a sack would have got on better. But I don't remember the 'pact' being mentioned. It was interesting to see the steelier side of Farage. He is usually charming and up-beat, kind of likeable when he isn't being pressed hard. A bit of lively debate with Morgan, who pulls no punches, brought out more aggression in him. I felt a bit sorry for Fiona, but it was a good idea to put Morgan & Farage on the same Panel. I think at one point Nigel was asked why he was hawking his views on every media platform going including QT, when he isn't standing for election himself. "You invited me on here" was his jovial response, To which Fiona said they had wanted Lee Anderson to come on but they couldn't get him! QT has suddenly become much more entertaining. They will be having Greens and all kinds of others on the show in the next few weeks. Probably not Count Binface though.
After a very shaky start I have to say that 5 episodes in, this new Dr Who series isn't doing too badly. True it bears no resemblance to what it used to be. But a few of the storylines - though a bit derivative, have been quite interesting. Last week's one had faint echoes of a Patrick Troughton story from around 1967 - the Macra Terror. Almost forgotten today Sadly the original tapes were overwritten by the BBC in the 1970's.
In last night's documentary about the Andrew Malkinson miscarriage of justice, it was revealed that Greater Manchester Police have a DNA match on the victim's clothing and fingernails to a man who lives near the victim. They've had it for years but kept quiet. So now she knows that the rapist is at large, and living close by.
Was there actually Police corruption in this case? How else could they remain silent about such vital evidence?
You have to wonder who they are protecting, and most people will come to the same conclusion, right or wrong.
GLASTONBURY Jumped the shark several years ago in my view. Watched bits of it on TV but less than impressed this year. It is massively over-hyped nowadays and seldom delivers live sets worth watching. And how much does it cost to get in? I wouldn't like to think. Out of the range of many folk I expect. I didn't bother to watch the SZA set, but it didn't go down very well so they are asying; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ck5g74jr59eo Since when was a live gig about million pound sets and special effects? I guess modern artists rely on those things, plus lots of glittery and slightly risqué costumes, to pull off a show. Especially when the audience has paid hundreds for tickets. Right Taylor? If your music isn't really designed to be played live just get some really decent lighting effects going, like Pink Floyd. Or better still, don't bother with massive concerts unless you can really perform your songs live and add something to them by doing it. I expect that kind of artist is now all but extinct. Can't remember anybody having that magic since Queen at Live Aid. Guess I'm getting too old.
