If there was one other league table that could compete for our interest this season - it's surely the inaugural prediction league? Right guys? Congratulations to Big Al, who has won the league with an average guess rate of 60.8% and notched an impressive 64 points! San Diego competed with him right to the end, but has to settle for second place and a silver medal this year. The four-way battle for bronze went right down to the wire, but Spanish pips me to the post with a six-point superior guess percentage. Hampy gets fifth with a massive 65.7 correct guess percentage score, only topped by Mike's 66.6% score (albeit by Mike guessing 32 fewer matches!). This means Gaffer's got to settle for sixth this season. Thank you to everyone for participating! It's just a bit of fun and this actually doesn't take me too long to do - so I'm happy to do it again for our return to the Premier League. Also, special shout-out to our resident Mr Positivity - Hampy - who was the only poster to correctly predict we would finish second in the pre-season predictions post! That must be the first time someone got that prediction spot on over the last several years!
At last I can change my lucky underpants (Mrs BA will be pleased!). Thanks for sorting this Nuggets, the Prem will be a whole new challenge for predicting! COYB!!!
Don't think I did too bad considering I predicted us to lose pretty much every game up until Christmas... think I'll keep the same mantra for next season...
I was going to mention that come to think of it haha! You were the only one to have correctly predicted back-to-back exact scores.
If there's no booby prize, I'm requesting we go on % of correct scores, then I'd at least be 3rd from bottom
Quality Nuggets, look forward to next season, in gonna take it more seriously now!! Can't be doing with coming third, that makes me the Leeds of our prediction league!!
Possibly one for the football boffins, but found this a really insightful, informative video on our playing style. The chap thinks we’ll be alright in the Premier League!
It’s a fun enough watch but I think this is pretty poor if it’s meant to be analysis. No mention of our fitness levels and substitutions that won us so many games by fine margins or profiling of our playing staff.
I saw it too and thought he was a strange guy.Interesting/surprising stats regarding our pass completions and possession.
I thought the use of the stats was good and some interesting observations on the formation change. I think that was the main focus, rather than substitutions etc. although I agree a lot more went into our promotion than what the guy covered.
Yeah, it did seem like the fella was making a big effort to be funny, which often fell flat. A bit like Spanish after a few sangrias
