Helston Flora day It's an old event that goes back to around 1780, the whole town gets their glad rags on and dances through the town, in and out of shops and houses. But even this is a modern incarnation of a celebration of Beltane and the end of winter / beginning of spring that goes back thousands of years into the these Celtic isles pagan history, before the Romans brought their version of Christianity to these shores.....
