Getting out of the Championship and staying in the PL are two very different things.

Ipswich (who conceded only three fewer than we did) aren't going to be able to come back into games the way they have all season next year. They got 32 points from losing positions this season. That is not happening in the Premier League.

Leicester are going to need someone to replace Vardy. Although they conceded the fewest goals of any team in the league, so they were much more than just an attacking team.

Interesting that the season we scored the most we also finished 18th.

That should be a massive note of caution

I think that is just money talking. Think the water is getting muddy with people throwing their hat in the ring. Those with snouts in the club may know more.

That was my thought to. Simon Jordan probably watches the EFL highlights show and then claims to know what he is talking about. Unless someone has sat through 90 mins of that boring ****e we had to suffer for much of last season they aint qualified to tell us what a mistake it was letting the manager go and get sonmeone else promoted.

To be fair, Jordan said he was at the Sunlan game on Boxing Day and it wasn't a great watch

What excuse do the people who have suffered all season have and they still tell us Acun should have let him have another season to bore us.

You said this after the transfer window. It’s been absolutely turgid at times despite finishing 7th. Does Rosie try and over coach things?

Considering Acun's approach and the fallout from LR's dismissal, it would truly surprise me if the incoming individual doesn't capture attention and respect. I anticipate they'll be a manager with widespread appeal, both nationally and internationally, that Acun can 'sell'.

Hence, in my opinion, it seems unlikely that Walter will be chosen. His background resembles that of a typical late-stage Allam appointment.

To balance out everyone who says it was crap football (which I’m not going to debate - everyone’s entitled to their opinion)

I really enjoyed most performances. Yes there was Swansea and Stoke which were frustrating, but I don’t think I’ve ever gone through a season seeing 100% good performances.

I enjoyed the passing and the Ipswich and Leicester games are the best I’ve seen in years.

    Not everyone disliked it.

I must admit I was surprised by the sacking but I have no issue whatsoever with it. I’m sad that it didn’t work out for LR but as a City fan I’m delighted the owners are not prepared to settle for mediocre performances which is what Liam delivered

I agree. Acun knows he needs to win the fans over with this one. An unknown manager wont cut it. He needs box office to justify his actions. And even though he is ugly and stretching 'box office' Cooper is a proven winner at this level and treated very harshly by Forest. For me he is exactly what we need. As much as Jesse March would be interesting I'm not sure he knows enough about the Championship to be a safe bet.

Not sure anyone would disagree on the Leicester or Ipswich games and nobody that I'm aware of has said they found every game boring or crap football. But even the most hardened LR supporters would admit that to many games this season at home have been well well well below what they needed and yes crap.

If they can't admit it then they're just being stubborn and blinkered

I enjoyed a lot of the passing especially when Seri managed to get involved, however, I was left feeling frustrated and like we could be so much more on too many occasions. The amount of games we struggled just to muster a shot on goal was not good.

“We had to make a decision for the future of our club and unfortunately our decision is not to continue with Liam."

Ilicali was pressed on why he decided to part ways with Rosenior and it all came down to their philiosphy.

He continued: “Liam has a way of football thinking and football philosophy that I completely respect, but the football I want to see in my team is not the style Liam was playing.

“I think he’s successful, I think he’s okay, but there is a dream for me of the football club playing the style of football which does not match with his style. This is natural in football.

“Every country, you play a different style of football and there are so many different philosophies.

“Do we want to play like this for the future, we didn’t want to play like this. I’m an offensive style character and more attacking style in my own life and career.

“In football, what we like is an attacking style of football. I’m not saying Liam’s style of football is bad, but it is not for us."

“The separation started after January. After January, we made the best recruitment in the league. Carvalho , Abdulkadir Omur from Turkey. Even our left-back is the most attacking left-back in the team.

“Our recruitment was for a completely attacking style. You have to find a coach that matches the recruitment. Before January we were on the same page as Liam.

“I respect his play, but I want to jump on my seat. I want the crowd to be more and more excited.

“I think Liam is a very good coach, but we want a very good coach with an attacking style mentality."

    Two things stick out to me there;
    - It sounds like someone else is picking the targets and LR was expected to make it work
    - Acun was as frustrated as some on here with some of the football on display this season
