Liverpool have apparently shown an interest in £15m rated Adebayor. Should we also be in the hunt? Despite his acrimonious departure from Arsenal, he was always a really dangerous player for us. Even when fans were booing him and calling for his head after the overtures of Beyonce - I still hoped that we'd keep him. Could we forgive and forget and welcome him back into the Arsenal family? Would he want to join? He joined Spurs, so he's obviously able to put past events behind him. He knows Arsenal and Wenger and I think he'd fit seamlessly into our squad. Wages could be an issue, but he's obviously going to have to take a big cut. We'd be able to offer more than Spurs too. I would sign him in an instant.
Good job your opinion counts for little with me then, typical response from you really Jayram - nothing constructive to add as usual.
Don't think re- signing Ade will happen. But you never really know with AW, not s predictable as he'll have you think.
I think Wenger is a Pragmatist. If they player is right, he'll be in for him. Despite all that has gone in the past, I still think that Adebayor could do a job for us
I would be all for us re-signing adebayor. And i know that some fans will never forgive him for the celebration etc. But they really need to grow up, because adebayor was getting dogs abuse in his last year at arsenal so as a revenge statement he did that celebration. Fans have this thing about have a personal vendetta against players but the facts are that adebayor was class for us. And he could really add another dimension to our attack. At the end of the day its what you do on the pitch not all the other bs that goes on around it.
i want to sign players that WANTto play for us. He has already shown his commitment to the club. D you honestly think he would give 100 per cent every game to win for arsenal ?. I would be surprised to see him give 50 per cent effort..
Wenger would NEVER re-sign Ade in a million years, not after everything that has gone on. How bad a manager would that make Wenger look if he did ?? We should never have sold him in the first place but I think once the majority of Arsenal fans got it in their head he was flirting with Milan to get a pay rise and saw his lazy performances, he had to go. Shame really, he offers us something we don't have. I thought Bendtner would be able to fill the gap but, I was proved wrong and Chamakh is less than useless.
Ade would not be a good signing for us, he had his chance, he is one of these players that is good when things are going good, but, in my opinion does not have the attitude of rolling up the sleeves when things go wrong, it would be interesting to see what happens when spurs have a few bad results. He is the type of player to go into a huff and blame everyone but himself. In all fairness he had a good half season for us, the rest of the time he was nothing special, in fact I believe he was one of the reasons that we never won the title in 07/08, remember the bentner incident where they started fighting on the pitch. Not to mention the effect he would have on team morale, didn't he steal players boots on the last day of the season 08/09. So no he would not be a good signing for us, and I would rather spend the 15 million on someone else.
Good player but poison in the dressing room, for that reason alone I wouldn’t want him back, I could just see him upsetting Van Persie if were to join and that’s the last thing we'd need.
1) Ade's got an ego the size of the Emirates 2) He'd have a negative effect on the morale of the dressing room 3) His wage demands would be too high 4) He can be a prolific scorer in fits & starts, but he overall goal scoring record ain't great. He's not call Adibarndoor for nuffink 5) He's a **** please log in to view this image OK no 5 was emotion based but am I wrong?
precisely! Rather have someone who wants to play for us and not interested in the wages. I'm surprised at you piskie!
Just throwing it in there for a bit of debate Theo I wasn't posting it as an entirely serious suggestion, but thought it might make a bit of a difference from the endless pessimistic crap that we've had to read after we didn't win one of our games.
