I'd be surprised if a free flowing, attack at all costs system works in the Premier League. Makes me think of Blackpool in 2010, when they conceded almost 2 goals a game. There's no chance you're outscoring Man City as they cruise to putting 6 past your keeper. I think Rosenior's system would probably get you more points by the end of a PL campaign, but that's just my opinion.
My snout has gone rather quiet recently. HT2 is the man to speak to. His information is usually bona fide.
If the football at home was more consistently like the Ipswich game, then he would probably still be in a job even outside the playoffs. But the entertainment value was gash for most home games. People put up with boring football if it delivers victories. He delivered the former without the latter
Well I am not a betting man but the bookmakers are not too far off the mark. May be worth a punt of a score on him being the next City coach.
Always bringing in any new manager is a gamble, you can look at track record and think yes sounds good, Sometimes certain decent players are already there which is obviously an advantage and makes life easier. Sometimes you need to bring a lot of players in, some settle, some don’t, Most managers at our level will have been sacked unless they are young and it’s early in their management. The last few home games against Leicester, Boro, QPR and Ipswich were great games but many before them were slow build up and some boring. I think LR is a thinking decent man who will learn and realise were he went wrong. Towards the end we attacked more because he realised we had to catch the others but unfortunately it was just to late and we should have been doing it much earlier.
Exactly this. It's not that we didn't have the players to do so, but LR decided to set us up differently. For Acun, if you want great, good isn't enough.
I think people are not making allowances for Acun's limited English with lack of nuance. I dont think he expects all out attack - just more attacking than we have been doing.
Lots said it at the time and they got absolutely slated by the people like Syd who are now saying it should have been done then....
I know nothing of Tim Walter or this Still fella, but I have been impressed with Rohl, and how he dragged them out of the sh1t, while.playing decent football. Cooper always looks like he lost a fiver and found a penny, and as for the others I'm a bit blah about em. Out of all mentioned me personally would love Rohl to be given a go and a full preseason to shape what he wants.
Hindsight is such a wonderful thing lol, I got to be honest I'm not sure if getting rid of Rosie will prove to be a massive blunder or a masterstroke, but it's his money that pays the bills, so I guess we have to like it or.lump it
It’s been a season where I feel we did not achieve what we could of. I don’t like the style of play however it did somehow get us to 7th. One thing that always came to mind was our pretty poor inability to put lower based teams to the sword. It’s a poor record. It’s as though they thought ok we will take the draw ta if you want to knock it around. Of course some beat us. 2 wins on the road where bloody poor performances against poor teams. Rotherham everyone’s canon fodder were winning for a long time. Huddersfield we needed a late late goal by Greavsie. This is what has cost us. Best of luck Liam you are a top fella and decent coach.
