The moral of the story is: 'Don't believe something just because the majority think it. Use your own brain.' Of course a lot of people wont understand anything.
Giles was def carrying a knock Wasnt fully fit Also not every player just slots instantly in a few months without any preseason
If you go a little bit further back to our first seasons in the Champ, you have: 2005/06 – 18th – 49F 55A 2006/07 – 21st – 51F 67A 2007/08 – 3rd – 65F 47A Crazy to think this season was our third highest scoring Championship season of all time and our fourth best Championship finish of all time, and that still wasn't good enough.
I think Acun thought we are not going to win enough games if we keep the ball in our own half as much as we were doing. I think he was right.
And when he wasn't, he was dropped for Ömür, who was really good. People often seem to ignore that you can only put so many players on the pitch at once. If, as people say, you absolutely must play Tufan, absolutely must play Ömür, have to play at least one out and out striker, and Carvalho and Philogene are obvious starters, then how could you possibly also fit in Zaroury?
Does it matter? The reply was in response to Acun changing his tune. I haven't listened to all his interviews, but from what I have heard, I was saying I don't think he is.
I've been quite vocal in my belief that LR, whilst improving us, has failed to deliver given the resources at his disposal. Not sure what you're getting at.
Thought it was pretty apparent what I was getting at. You claim that Acun's decision had nothing to do with our finishing position (or more accurately, you believe Acun). The notion that Rosenior failed to deliver is rubbish. If it was down to 'the resources' at his disposal the league table would just line up with the wage bills. We overperformed and still left points on the table - which is exactly why we should have had optimism heading into next season.
Its incredibly niave to think you can just bring in a few attackers in january and guarantee they slot in without being apart of pre season
It matters not what we think. The chairman and his backers are pumping the money in and expect a decent return for their investment. I personally did not like the style of play we were trying to play. It was far too pedestrian and easy for teams to play against. I go to football to be entertained and not sit there looking at my watch wishing the time away.
It’s even more naive and sentimental to believe a man is going to carry on obsessively funding failure whilst simultaneously been bored to tears by a rigid system that does not work and certainly wouldn’t work in the prem.
It was more than that though. The silliness was having the good attackers up the field but spending too much time passing the ball about in our own half.
Come on, Vern - Your Kid is always in the know - give us the latest odds on the names we've been hearing
