Off topic a bit but i agree Everytime ive been there They just seem an odious lot Even leeds fans can be all right sometimes And i agree Get rohl in at all costs Itll destroy them
are you saying it's going to be difficult to retain the possession football while at the same time stop the obsession with staying in our own half for too long? if you look at all the teams in the Premier League they mix up between playing out from the back and the goalkeeper throwing or kicking the ball to the forwards football isnt played in a straight jacket
Tbf what Acun said was that we have been recruiting for a style of play that doesn’t fit with what LR is implementing, he specifically mentioned Giles in relation to this.
Out of all the fans i know and message boards i read, Sheff Wed are by far the worst. Know tonnes of Leeds and Sheff Utd fans and they're absolutely nowhere near the levels of Wednesday, they're beyond delirious.
what do you mean by "come"? Tan and Acun may discuss managers but I doubt they talk to them first it may be different with the clubs when there's lots of speculation about the manager's future
The one thing that just doesn't make sense is Acun saying he doesn't like Liam's style of football, then why give him a 3 year contract. I can only assume, that after bring in Carvalho etc, he didn't see the improvement in the attacking play he hoped for. Certainly the home form must have been a factor, as I can appreciate if you are bring guests and crowds are increasing to 20,000+ then you would expect to win most of them. I guess time will tell whether Acun called this one correctly or not.
Can’t say I’d be happy if we signed Walter. Guy couldn’t get the best team in Bundesliga 2 promoted in several years. Just seems like another Shota. Also, @M88 EVN made a point about Coyle and Greaves begging Acun not to sack Liam. He’s usually spot on with his inside knowledge and one of the things I was concerned about was how the squad would feel, especially the ones who’ve been here a while. Whatever you thought of him, the players really liked McCann as well and weren’t happy when he was sacked for Shota. KLP not liking Shota was a huge factor in him pushing a move to Brentford the year he did. I said earlier on the thread that any slim chance of keeping Greaves is gone now. He’ll be the first to go.
LR going makes no difference on Greaves staying. He was 99.99% gone/going no matter who was in charge.
Suppose it all depends on who we bring in and what his plans are. Impossible to say that now Rosie has gone so is Greaves as by all accounts he was 99% leaving anyway. If we bring in Rohl and we've got a clear plan for promotion and the players he wants to bring in of a certain calibre, what's to say Greaves wouldn't fancy one more go at promotion with us?
I've said it multiple times, but giving him the new deal made perfect sense. As it was win win for everyone. Confidence boost for LR and his team and a well done for the work done so far, some added security for them also. Add that to the backing he gave him in the window he had everything he needed to get us on the top 6 and if that happened and another club came knocking, it gave the club security knowing he wouldn't be poached on the cheap.
One thing I have noticed is the usuals at the botanic are coming to his defence on social media. Baz is also acting as public voice by spinning it on the pod. Can criticise Acun for a few things. One of them is certainly not being able to control a narrative
It’s great how big decisions like the sacking always polarises opinions into two distinct groups. the half glass empty vs. the half glass fulls. or the Karen’s vs the cool kids
People need to stop analysing every word and every statement, they're just words to placate or boost whoever they are talking to or about. Don't take it all too seriously.
