straight from the horses mouth... Acun on talksport.. Acun doesnt like Roseniors style of football. he wants attacking football which is what hes said from the start. Thats the reason for the sacking. he's tried to bring in more attacking players to suit this vision, but it doesnt match Liams tactics.
"Hull City are thought to have an interest in Sheffield Wednesday's German head coach Danny Rohl" - Baz Cooper
He gave LR enough time, the correct tools and enough backing to play a more attacking style and I doubt Acun hasn't made it clear to LR what he wants
If the style of play was the issue why employ him in the first place? Surely he knew how he’d set up. Oh well, can’t disagree the football was boring for large parts. Sad for LR but onwards and upwards.
Maybe LR sold him on a attacking style of play based on possession. He just didn't quite deliver on the attacking style often enough
There was limited evidence of what his style would be, we don't play like Brighton nor Derby under Rooney.
I think Acun revealed more than a bit of vanity in that interview, he wants to be basking in reflected glory.
Lots of people act like Liam was the attraction to the players. Please dont go by what the players say in public. They are the instagram generation. Tan and Acun are the ones who talk to the clubs and sort out the deals.
I think we have to understand Acun is a football fan playing real life football manager, why would he spend his fortune to be bored? He wants excitement, he wants glory. We want the same thing, the difference is the responsibility is on him to deliver it. He has to make the hard decisions.
So Acun never bought into Liam's style of football... then why did he hand him a 3 year contract extension in December?
same reasons we all bought into him, mouth piece, good bloke and had the club at heart but let’s not pretend we all loved the footy
Rosenior will be in the PL before City are IMO. Like Simon Jordan has said on TS this morning, typically, it isn't free flowing attacking footballing sides that get out of the Championship, it is gritty, hard to break down sides.
So we appointed him to bring in a style of play, signed all these players to fit a style of play, got all our academy teams at every age playing our style of play, bought other clubs to implement our style of play at and to use for loaning our kids to so they could learn our style of play at a higher level than playing it in the academy teams. And now it isn't our style of play because in the first full year of the project, we got frustrated by opposition teams sometimes on our way to finishing 7th. Wonderful.
He also said... that when Trevor Francis was his manager at Palace he finished 8th or 9th.. He asked him what the blueprint was for next season and he said more of the same... Simon Jordan said, thats not what I want...
