He’d get my vote especially if he can help getting in better loan players from the PL eg the likes of Carvalho.
Hull had a net transfer spend of £6.5m (£10m gross) for the season just ended. A bit more than Erol. I know the argument will be that he shouldn't be trusted with that sort of money but I can't figure out a way to make an judgement either way. My feeling remains he worked wonders with a generally slow, low skill group and this makes me wonder what he could do with a better group.
This is insane. Are Hull the new Watford? If Erol is not tied up with us pretty soon this would be a great signing for us. Roseinor’s pre season training last year was fantastic with his players fitness levels at their best. He can bring his back room staff as well. However this would need to happen very soon. If you’re reading this Erol and you’ve been offered a contract, put pen to paper asap.
Sorry clingo - don't agree. Bulut has demostrated very little technical ability in his intial gameplans and particularly on the hoof during games - in fact he's firked up things as often as he's rectified them. I know he's a new kid on the block as far as the Championship goes but he lost as many points as he won with some of his decisions. Yes, he inherited what he started with, but save for the two Greeks, he hardly improved things on the pitch. Distinctly average performance for me, and although probably a safe pair of hands this season, he's got a lot to do to convince me we'll achieve anything other than safety.
I hear you Sparkey. However, I still maintain that Erol's seeming lack of technical ability has been governed by a technically inept group on the whole. I'm also very conscious of the target he was given. In a nutshell, I honestly don't believe he's had the players to do any more than he has. Like everyone else here, I want to see a team that can play with pace and skill and to have a positive style that runs right through the club. I can't be certain about whether anyone can do that for us but I think Erol has as good a chance as anyone Blimey, I can't remember being this entrenched in my opinion before. I think the last time was when DJ was taking a load of flack in his first season. Whatever happens and whoever is at the helm, a busy summer is required in and out.
Bulut had the chance in the last 2 games to change it and play a more attacking style and not be so defensive in midfield. Granted he had injuries to certain players but frankly losing 1-4 and 2-5 with what he deemed the best team and formation proved to me he’s unlikely to change it next season. He seems to be of a mind he thinks the fans are satisfied with his ultra defensive tactics and there’s no reason for a more up tempo style and as long as we sneak wins in injury time there’s no necessity to dwell on the previous 90 minutes of tedium.
Well again, all I can say is that to play the way you'd like to see requires players that are capable of doing it, at any stage of the season. I think we have four senior players maximum of doing that and bringing on the youngsters. Even then, we are severely lacking in speed merchants. It's all horses for courses.
I’ve been having a look at the Not606 Hull site and they’re not happy about Rosenior’s sacking. They’ve also listed the latest bookies odds. Interesting.,
Wasn't sure where to put this. As I understand it, retained lists have to be with EFL today (although they don't have to be published yet). Who's compiled our list?
