I said: "If I was a professional footballer I would prefer to play for a club winning matches and playing attacking football rather than play for a club that has their players pass the ball around at the back and waste time." I didnt say that I would attract players by showing we play attractive match winning football. Think about what I say not what you want me to say.
It really isn't, I might be wrong but I would have thought owner's would like to see progress/ an improvement in results after the January window not a step backwards, especially with the players that Acun brought in
Of course, but my point on Carrick and Robins is that they both made the Play Offs - the latter to the final - last season, and had heavy investment in the summer, only to miss the play offs entirely. Their clubs aren't likely to sack either of them though because as you say, progress was clear. Rosenior showed that progress in April once Philogene was back on the park and Seri was back from AFCON. Delap back and we had all the pieces on the park at once and we drew 3-3 against Ipswich in a hugely entertaining game. I don't understand this notion that we had a better squad on WBA at the end of the season so at the start of the season when Harry Vaughan and Jason Lokilo were running around for us we should have done better? I said elsewhere, but if Philogene scores his pen to put us 2-0 up against Watford and Tufan scores his to give us a 1-0 win at their place, we're in the play offs over WBA. So are we sacking Rosenior off the back of two pen saves from Bachmann? That's bonkers to me.
It’s the same thing though: you’d want to see that a manager wins games before you join. That ain’t happening until the season starts.
Don't bother, you'll just end up going round in circles with him. Maybe he'll post another photo of his haircut to brighten up the thread.
He guided us to 7th, having been 6th at Christmas and without the amazing business we did in January....
If you think it is the same thing your comprehension is seriously lacking Are you seriously advocating that a failed manager should keep their job until they are sacked during the season after a pre season of recruiting players and get a manager in who then has to do a sort of audition with the players he didnt choose to get the players he wants? That is an absolute shambolic idea. It's much better, given the number of players leaving, to get a new manager before pre-season starts.
Rosie's body language during the lap of honour after Ipswich didn't have the look of a man who was totally proud of his achievements. And the fact he wasn't walking with Acun said a lot too.
People might not like the sacking or agree with it and that's their right and opinion. But if it was going to happen then doing it now is absolutely the right time to do it.
What manager worth his salt wouldnt want to come to Hull City? They have an owner who backs his manager. If the manager fails he gets sacked. What good manager doesnt accept that. I'm sure behind the scenes it's not quite as black and white but that is the gist of it.
If it’s this Tim Walter and not a proven manager or top prospect (Cooper/Rohl) Acun will have lost my support and I will be calling it just as insane as some of the other lads on here. Edit: This decision only has any merit if it makes sense and that to me would make no sense whatsoever.
I’m not saying a failed manager should keep their job. I’m saying you can’t expect a new manager to immediately be able to attract good players until they’ve been winning games, which means that we shouldn’t expect a summer of great quality signings. Whoever comes in will largely be working with what they have until they look like they’re worth backing, either in January or next summer. Especially if Acun doesn’t want to risk spending £10m on another failed promotion push.
So more insight from last nights podcast.... seems the Pandur situation was not good, especially when benched when Allsop was costing points and then outed in favour of Ingram (didn't go down well) Apparently Vincent Kompany wanted to sign Sinik before we signed Lokilo and Zaroury..
