I think the reality is that it's just another example of Acun's naivety. He sacked Grant and replaced him with his mate who doubled the wage bill and sent us backwards. That decision probably cost him £5m at least, and I've always firmly believed that had Grant handled that summer transfer business we'd be miles ahead of where we are now. It would've been safe, domestic based and probably quite frugal. Acun thought he could bring in a few players from Turkey and shoot up the league, it was naivety 101 and we've spent the last months trying to shift 75% of those signings on. He then appoints an inexperienced gaffer who salvaged the mess his mate left, got us out the relegation scrap and tried to introduce a new, more attractive playing style which has progressed at a reasonable rate. It was by no means perfect but we've done alright, he's developed some relatively technically limited players very well (the likes of Slater, Jones, and Coyle spring to mind, and this is no criticism of them) and we're competing at the right end of the division. We're competing against sides with a significantly larger wage bill, and we gave it a good go but came up short. So I don't see the endpoint. Even if we bring in Cooper, who's a very good manager, is it a case of promotion or he's fired too? Do we just hire and fire? It would help if we stopped scrimping out on a centre forward as Acun never said he'd do.
Had to think for a bit to remember who Cooper is. Its the funny eyes guy that coached Forest. Lets go!!
He’ll have acun laid on the floor in the car park of the mkm. He’ll be running over him on some **** scooter Shouting “I’m running that board my way by calling out any negative posters” I’ve told that idiot geo, “Rosie knows more than him”. Then you go and sack Rosie!!!!” “Don’t get me started on that howden!” “Send me tan, he’s next”
So why say? "With 2.5years left on a contract, I just sack him? Surely say to BHA “Make us an offer!”"
A mate just reminded me about Swansea dramatically tailing off under Steve Cooper and their fans saying the football was ****ing awful towards the end of the season and he wouldn't have got Forest promoted without Brennan Johnson. Somebody allay my fears please
Fair enough...My experience says different. I worked with a Greek lad about 20 years ago..His aunt was in the Greek government at junior minister level. He proper hated the Turks..I mean hated...
Yeah, he left Antalyaspor in December to become assistant to Terzić. I really rate him as a coach and if he was still at Antalya he’d be my ideal replacement for Rosenior and I’m sure he’d be on Acun’s shortlist too as his style of football is possession-based but also more intense and attack-minded with aggressive pressing. If Terzić wins the Champions League, he may stay as head coach. Şahin’s contract at Dortmund is only until 2025. I read an interview where Şahin said he couldn’t turn down the opportunity to be assistant at Dortmund despite it being a demotion in coaching hierarchy but that he wants to be a head coach again somewhere soon.
There are 7 stages of grief and the grieving process... They include shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing, and acceptance Still in shock... Lots were in denial at first, lots understandably angry... Not going to feel depressed Always / can be 'testing' to follow the club In time acceptance will come in one form or another Feel sorry for Liam - seems a nice bloke with a vision of football and how to play it. Overall Since Xmas 3 wins in however many games, position 14th? I expected and would have been happy to have Liam start the season, however once the initial shock wore off I wasn't surprised when I stood back. Acun had made mistakes and will continue, though depending what we read is a successful businessman and the decision will have been weighted Let's see... UTT
