It seemed obvious to me that it was his sort of his way of switching into the media speculation that Still is the favourite for the job. I wonder as I get older if people are completely unable to read tone and nuance or if they deliberately interpret it wrong.

That twitter account is a pain in the arse though. Has no quality filter at all, just posts any old ****e safc related and often tries to pass rumour off as fact.
I'm inclined to agree with you about tone and nuance. I've got a weird thing about people comprehending information accurately, so it frustrates the hell out of me when they don't seem to understand these things. Odd, I know.

Yeah, I'm no fan of that Twitter account.

I'm getting battered or for suggesting it was an obvious joke, so maybe it wasn't that obvious. Ah well, otherwise very good journalist will get forever criticised by outraged football fans now no doubt.

I think it was a clear joke "I can't confirm or deny that a ginger man in his 30s has been house hunting on my street". It wasn't the world's greatest joke, he's not getting a gig on Live at the Apollo off the back of it, but it seems pretty clear that it was just a throw away comment.

i'll be disappointed if the club don't release some type of communication by the end of the week
I agree. It’s a bit like the end of the NFL season and the Monday comes around and all the coaches leaving their teams happens. No reason not to announce people leaving their roles. It would certainly calm a fan base a little that have been on boiling point since the mags game.

As per his instagram, Will Still is in Belgium completing his pro licence so doubt he's being appointed anytime soon.

And with Maric, i'm not entirely sure on what his role as head of playing philosophy and coaching entails but if it involves first team matters I doubt he'd leave before the CL has finished which could be this week but if they win you're looking at the end of May.

Then you have Speakman being at the u21 game today, that isn't what a man about to leave the club would be doing is it? As others have said, I don't think he leaves until September.

I want an announcement now on something but due to all of the above I can't see it.

Can't say I'm completely convinced that Speakman will go. I think the timing is wrong. You need someone in post to oversee the appointment of the new Head Coach and pre-season. If he does go, I don't think it will be until after the season starts.
If tge rumours of him going are true then I think it depends if it is his decision to leave or is being "relieved" of his duties.
If it his decision then yes I agree with your reasoning but if it is not then I would like KD to make the decisions.

Do we have any idea when he'll have completed his pro licence? I doubt we'd appoint him until that's done due to the complications it would cause. I had assumed he'd finished by now, to be honest.
