I love what Spurs are doing, deliberately losing 4 in a row to lure City into a false sense of security before you beat them
I said to your boy, Brunel, the other week that we’re the type of dumb ****s who’ll lose every remaining game but spank City. It’s worth mentioning City have never scored a league goal at our new ground either. Just ****ing know we’re gonna essentially hand you the title.
Yeah I clocked that earlier, about City never having scored a goal or taken any points at your new ground. It's definitely the sort of Spursy thing that could happen, you lose every game, then go and beat City. It's going to be a strange one for your fans at the stadium that one, what do you do ? You have to support your team, but deep down you will not want to be beating them for fear it will hand us the title
Oh I want us to lose can’t even deny it. I hate the fact I want my own side to lose but the fact we have little to play for means I don’t see us sacrificing anything just to stop you. If we had a legitimate chance of achieving something by beating City then I’d wanna win, as much as I don’t wanna see you win the league I’ll always put the “success” of Spurs over the demise of Arsenal but as I said, beating City doesn’t really do too much for us. We need six points to secure 5th spot, if we don’t get them by beating Burnley and Sheffield then we don’t deserve 5th.
I love it that it's such a **** dilemma for your lot But I'd feel exactly the same way if it was the other way around.
I don't really see it as a dilemma to be honest. We're not getting 9 points from our last 3 games, we'd do well to get 6. Man Utd have 4 tough games and Chelsea are a random result generator. Tottenham realistically need one win to get 5th spot from here and they have Burnley and Sheffield United. Even if you ignore the Arsenal title thing if I was a Spurs fan I'd be wanting them to put in their big performances in the other two fixtures, if it wasn't their last home game of the season I'd be wanting them to rest players for it.
Usually I’d agree but my club has this insane ability to make ourselves look like idiots and beating City to hand the title to Arsenal is the most Spursy type of thing my club is a specialist at.
I love how Sky keep putting up their remaining fixtures in the title race alongside the other two. Then not bother talking about them
Friday night was same. Carragher on commentary and Sky wishing it was a game that was important for us. Never showed Brentford in relegation bit of table, now they h r to show them and add us in.
This is the same City that only drew with us at the Etihad when we had Emerson and Davies playing CB. I don’t quite know how we’ve managed it, but we’ve been a proper bogey team for them for about 5-6 years now. I really wouldn’t be that shocked if we win.
Funniest thing I thought on Saturday was after the Ipswich game how SKY stayed with them to pick up the runners up cup, while showing a brief few minutes of Leicester going up as Champions. I know we are supposed to love the underdogs but football is proper fooked up, it's like SKY have heard of Fosse, so ignored them.
