Trouble is those better players just don’t have his staying power/athleticism - Willock and Joelinton spend far too much time injured to be considered players you build a team around. Their unreliability is part of the reason we have struggled this year. They couldn’t step up when the fixtures increased.
Willock played almost all the previous season and so did Joelinton. Longstaff or any player could be Injured significantly at any moment. I suspect Willock might have long term issues now. He's shifty so always going to he more prone. There's going to be less and less need for Longstaff... once the full list of cms is available it will be ridiculous to see him playing regularly.
Yes and It's also more than possible Guimaraes won't be here mind. I just find it hard to believe he won't go at this point. These players know their careers are short and as much as I'm sure he does appreciate the support he's got here he'll find it impossible to turn down a club that he can win trophies at, play in the champions league regularly and double his wages.
