Morning all from a brightening bandit country after a lot of rain in the night. Had a cracking day yesterday, managed to stay in one piece ice-staggering and yes Tiffany did have a stall but Mrs W_Y did not see anything she really fancied - but that means I still have to find something for Xmas. Somerset House looked beautiful with a big tree and all light up, well worth a visit if you are in town. Xmas market on the South Bank, is pretty much like any Xmas market over here and not a patch on one in Germany (cannot get a shot of Rum in your mulled wine here!)...Regents St light are very disappointing, but Carnaby St was great fun. Got home at 12.30, so an early night....
Morning all, the breeze got up during the night and has blown away the mist that was hanging around, so a brighter morning in rural France. Off to have a look round a Christmas market this morning in a small town about 15 miles away. For several years it has been held in the grounds of a local chateau, but I have heard that this year the owners were asking for too much money, so it has been moved. Of course it is nowhere as large as one in the big cities around the country, but there is still quite a lot of the cheerful atmosphere about it. Last year we had two producers giving away samples of their English style beer, both of which were very good. It took several return visits to make up my mind which of two I preferred.
Morning everyone! Glad of the point yesterday, but it does look very close in the table, a little inquiétant, especially as Brizzle are on the rise. I've just had breakfast in bed as it was drizzly and miserable outside, but it appears to have brightened up in the last few mins. Now there is plenty of blue sky to make a pair of sailors trousers! Should get up... Hornette, sounds like you had a fab time Are there any videos on youtube yet?!

H, I don't know if you've seen the series "The choir that rocks" on ITV, but my sister is in the Hemel version and she had a performance yesterday - her comment on Facebook afterwards was "Yet another fab afternoon singing with the hemel rock choir". Two hours after she posted that, someone else who is involved posted "Still buzzing, what an awesome show" so I know where you're coming from with your comments about your after-show feelings although I've never been in that situation myself.
Tha idiott Ian Beale guy who did that rip thread posted this on my profile page ( after i called him an idiot for posting fake rip threads on different forums)
Breaking news: Gary Speed has died. I'm no great lover of most things Welsh (resident Hornets excluded), but that has shocked me to the core. Partly because he was by all accounts a great man, certainly a great player, and as much as it pains me to agree with Robbie Savage he was just starting to turn the Wales team around. But it's the sudden-ness that has really struck me. He was talking happily on the radio earlier in the week, and did some punditry only yesterday for the Beeb. R.I.P.
Shocking news indeed, same as you NNW, no love of them, but he was doing a good job and good to see good ex-players doing well. It's the family you feel for, you just cannot imagine what they must be going through...
I never liked the welsh team, but since he took over Speed was working wonders and turning them around. He was in the prime of his life so this is a huge shock, I genuinely paled when i read the news. RIP Garry, all of Wales will miss you.
Horrible news. Sad for his obviously school age children too. Wonder what dark recesses existed in his mind. Very sad RIP Gary
I wish the police would drop the "no suspicious circumstances" line, in this case and in general. I understand the need to communicate that he wasn't murdered, but there has to be a more tactful way to do it.
Shocking news. Such a sad loss of life. Credit to the Swansea and Aston Villa fans, taken this from the Guardian. Apparently Shay Given had tears streaming down his face before the game started. Can't imagine what it must be like for them. His poor family.
Sorry Frenchie. I read the article, missed the first line and saw "There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death..."
Slightly embarrassing.
