Like many I think the dynamic duo knifed Nige in the back and was disgusted at the way he was removed, I think LM was sold a pup by the two when he joined but being young and ambitious he believed their story and accepted the challenge, accepting that Nige had gone I firmly believed and advocated that LM should be allowed to complete the season and to be fair we ended 11th, that's progress, he should be allowed the summer transfer window, pre-season and 10 games next season before the mob starts to howl or congratulate him for the teams transformation or failures.

On plus note, that’s three years running above Cardiff

Stoke ended our unbeaten run in a similar manner to the way we ended Southamptons.
Ah well - we just await the stress-free playoffs - followed by the Euros.

Here we go, you’ve been waiting for this. Admittedly a very poor result, but it doesn’t matter at all, players in holiday mode, not wanting to get injured, it happens regularly. I’m disappointed how we capitulated, but it’s been a good couple of months. Massive progress under LM, he now needs to be backed financially (as did NP) by the suits to get us into the top 10, and possibly top 6.

I'm glad I didn't take the 4:30 am wake up call to watch the match based on the result. That was a poor end to our season and we move on to whatever the gods of the prawn sandwich brigade decide what we deserve for next time out. Truly I don't expect much of anything other than the usual statements of intent which generally mean absolutely nothing when it comes down to progress. Yet another disappointing but expected campaign.

    A good couple of months
But we’ve been safe for that long and have played all those unbeaten games with no pressure on us at all
Let’s see how we perform when it’s all to play for from the first game of next season
It might be a different story
I hope it’s not and aside from today we’ve done quite well recently but we’re starting with a blank sheet again in August and so are 23 other teams who will all have the same aspirations

We may have been pressure-free… but the teams that we beat or drew with are pretty much all playing for something, so it's a petty comment, really. We still finished higher than the last two seasons when we weren’t under pressure, either. Finally, it's good to see some progress in terms of league finishes—our highest for four years, apparently!!

The problem with Bristol City is that we, the supporters, are rarely wrong but when the management are always wrong therein lies the issue. I truly expect a summer of nothing much happening on the team improvement front because we already have a bunch of cheapies who can, with the right coaching, actually kick a ball both backwards and forwards when there is a downhill wind - so why change management's version of success? My prediction is that after a summer of deep faking our leaders will come up with some ludicrous statement maintaining our right to better football and by late October Manning will be gone, only to be replaced by someone with even less experience. There is a hint of sarcasm in my words but expect the same old stuff at Ashton Gate this time next season - nothing.

At least we won’t have to play Birmingham next season. They have been a bogey side for us for the last few seasons.

Defensively shocking at times but not one of Max's best games either.

I can't help thinking at the end of every one of our seasons what we could have been if our better players had never left? Looking at the history of Bristol City players who have gone on to play well in the Premier League, or elsewhere, make me wish that we were a team where people wanted to stay and play for the shirt but sadly that can never be the case based on our ownership. Ipswich didn't pay a fortune to build their squad which proves that with good management who truly believe they have the ability to succeed the Premiership is available to those who want it the most. Sadly again that will never come to pass at Ashton Gate because of our inability to attract the right people and then fully support them the joint endeavours. Sad really. :emoticon-0132-envy:
