Coyle yes. Giles not a chance. Because we changed formation and he had no defensive duties. He was still gash and provided very little going forward. Jacob is by far the better, more committed, player.
Just read what rosenior had to say....the usual ****..."im proud" and "from where we where last season".... Well rosenior listen .....you are a boring **** as is "your football"please leave our club...soon
He got the same service that the other forwards got - we created very little because Plymouth didn't let us; as much as it hurts, sometimes you just have to give the other team some credit?
Plymouth were fighting for their lives They had to win and survival was in their hands if they did They played through the pain barrier The fatigue They threw them selves into blocks That siege mentality is very hard to create out of those type of scenarios Check the fury and frustration mumba showed as he pounded the ground as he had to come off If we went totally gungho at the start Theyd have torn us apart Their atmosphere, fullhouse They were up for it in far more ways than us And i dont truly think we believed we could get in the playoffs Championship football is all about small margins
"I just felt we played the occasion a little bit" Liam Rosenior talks to @mikewhitesport after they miss out on the playoffs Listen to the full interview: https://bbc.in/44uDRzM
I knew it would end like this once Sinik returned to Turkey. His leadership on the pitch was greatly missed.
Rosenior mentioned that part of our problem was that we rushed to go forward when it wasn't on, rather than making a better decision to perhaps keep the ball when a progressive pass wasn't on, get a foot on the ball and gain some control. I thought this was apparent watching the first half live, it was very end to end and it was benefiting them more than us. We needed to get some control and get our players on the ball a bit more, and eventually we paid for the price for not doing that, and letting the game continue to be fast and chaotic with them breaking on us often. At the risk of being called condescending, I think some people are still too obsessed with getting it forward more quickly always being the answer when we don't play well. Doing that was a big part of the problem in the first half today.
Thats exactly it They came out full of energy and aggression We needed to slow the tempo and gain control They couldnt keep that up for long But they were able to defend a low block in the 2nd half due to being ahead after they tired
I think that's one of a few recurring themes with us this season. We've gone behind too easily at times and had to chase games against teams who have something to protect. If you've got a parachute payments squad you can maybe get away with doing that frequently but we can't.
“It’s a really disappointing day,” said Rosenior, whose side finish seventh, three points outside the top six. “It says a lot about the league that every single team that was battling against relegation won. It’s a tough league. “Plymouth gave so much energy into their performance – they ran, they chased, they tackled. “We didn’t come onto a good game in the first 20 minutes. Maybe we played the occasion a little bit rather than the game. “There are tears in the dressing room from a few of the lads. Among the disappointment and the pain, I couldn’t be prouder, not just of them but every single person connected with the football club. “From where we’ve come from last season and what we’ve built, there’s a real bedrock, a real foundation for us to go on and achieve in the long term for this football club. Everyone can see the progress we’ve made, everyone other tigers1970 obviously, but he’s a cretin”.
Acun is not a patient man, despite all the smiles. Entertainment business = instant gratification business. He is also at that stage of life that cardiologists refer to as Sniper Alley. How patient will he be with Rosie, I wonder?
Personally think Giles has been better at delivering crosses than either Philogene or Zaroury. It's staggering how few goals we've scored this season from a winger putting in a cross and a striker putting it in the net. Getting wingers who can cross rather than constantly cut in and try to shoot would be a big priority for me this summer but not sure that's in Liam's playbook.
