So you're considering us to be a pretty much certain win then?

It's implied. He's saying playing us (among others) will result in an improvement of your away record, therefore saying that those games are all marked down as wins.

I reckon the reaction in Pompey today was something like "hang on, we can beat Saints!" Of course I could have told you that two weeks ago, you can leave your formbook at home for that one.

Exactly, which is why I think it's silly to mark Portsmouth away as a certain win. Sure you may very well win, but being a derby, you can't be sure.....

I have never been a big believer in "home/away form". At the end of the day its still a field of grass which has to goals at each end? Yes you have less fans but what else?

To be fair to the guy he wasn't saying that we will win against any team he was just implying he expected to get more points from some if not all of these games. Stop being so sensitive Pompeylapras........As the experts have said anyone is capable of beating anyone. I don't think there is any one of us that deep down thinks there is going to be a dead cert win against any team. That includes Pompey Saints or Saints Pompey.

In the 2nd half of the season we have to play 6 of the sides who sit 2nd-8th away, this is where I think we could become unstuck.

We are in our best position for years to go to nottarfkrap & get a positive result. I'm really proud of what we have achieved thus far. Well done team & thank you Nige.
I'm on the bus & I'm fully believing.

It can be a problem depending on what your own personal hope is for this season. If you want us to finish in the top 2 then yes, it will need improving. But you can contrast it with saying that West Ham, despite having great away form, have been erratic at home and Leicester will take time to get into their stride.

There's no point threating about the home form dipping because it probably will at some point. Just enjoy the Football we play and get behind the team. We've never lost 2 consecutive games under Adkins and I have faith that it won't be the case on Tuesday!

Not in the slightest. But with all respect, you're not as good as the likes of Cardiff or Derby or Leicester.

I'm just highlighting the fact that we've got some potentially easier away games to come (I would argue that only Barnsley and Coventry fall into that category so far), and hence we might be able to turn some of those defeats into draws, and draws into wins.

We don't, that's the problem. Home and away we use our gameplan of building from the back and trying to play through teams. It works at home because oppostion teams adopt a more cautious approach. Away from St Mary's, teams are more confident to come at us and stop us from playing our game.

We played 4312 yesterday, relying on our fullbacks for width. Bristol's front 3 kept them busy, so we had no width and they had the fairly simple job of stopping us from coming straight down the middle.

Playing away from home, particularly somewhere diifficult, it requires a more soild game played higher up the pitch with the asbility to spring quick breaks..

A speedy winger to help open them up would be a major plus. Lallana for all of his skill is by no means fast and De Ridder doesn't yet get many chances to inspire. Lee Holmes seems to be the forgotten man.

JDub, you're a mug. Our away form is good! Win your home games and draw away.

Holmes isn't all that quick either. Although Lallana isn't that quick, he can beat his man on the outside and cross with his left foot, which is something he should be encouraged to do more often when the game requires it of him. Holmes is good, but I don't think he's had an extended run in the side since he arrived due to injuries. The injuries that led Derby to let him go in the first place.

Exactly. Anyone would think we were relegated from the Premiership last season. As i said before win your home games and draw your away games is promotion form. Drawing 9 away games gives you 9 points so far Saints have 12 away points so they are on target so i have no idea what all the fuss is about.

Win your home, draw away. We're bettering the latter, 9 games 12 points! you can't win every game.
