Ironically, I recently watched the movie (Google spying on me), and so familiar with the wedding scene. As long as he's in a suit, he could have blended in in the background as an extra, they had all sorts. He would absolutely be wrong for any speaking role in the film though. They probably had all the extras they needed though. He specifically requested to be an extra AFTER being turned down for a speaking role. (He auditioned for multiple).

And yes, this was before Rocky, before he had had any role of any slight significance. He had a hard time getting roles because of " how he talked".

It is the beetle apocalypse. Opened my skimmer trap up this morning to clean it out while waiting on my youngest to take her to school... There were (no exaggeration) at least 60 dead beetles floating in there since I cleaned it out two days ago, they were completely covering the surface (and more sank to the bottom.). I felt a little bad about so many senseless bug deaths. It was quite gross pulling the basket out to dump it because there was no clear path to grab the basket without reaching through a mass of dead beetles. Never seen such carnage.

There was a long anecdotal story I had written out.

Decided to spare everyone and change it into a one sentence rant instead. <laugh>

Super short version of my story it was two employees fighting over who would do what in an app I wrote. Their VPs got involved and started fighting. The original two employees are now friends and come to an agreement but the VPs are still fighting each other in a bloody battle even though the two employees who they were representing have kissed and made up long ago... Those VPs both won't let it go though and determined to take each other down. <laugh>

Any manager who's first go to is to defend their resource and not even look at the thing.

I recently had a dickhead walk past my office into the qa director office and deamnd/ask they didn't have to go to a 30min meeting on a topic that was a regulatory issue thst could **** down things.

The director told him to say that meeting is too short notice blah blah.

The thing was this person then walked to the canteen and took a break while the meeting was on.

I feel a little bad... I didn't do anything wrong, but I indirectly unintentionally caused the fight to start. Not that anyone blames me, and I'm not one of the ones fighting. I'm just sitting at the sidelines waiting for the fight to end so I can get back to my job.

Tell you what i don't get.

    And have never got.

Why on earth would anyone who works in an office want to go home to watch "the office" of any ilk on TV for entertainment.

Watching David Brent managing or whatever is not entertainment, never was imo.

    You work in an office.

Do you really need to see another office as your evening entertainment?

It's just seeing the setting rather than escaping it. I'd rather poke my eyes out.

Never mind what happens in offices, the most petty fall outs I have seen are over company cars. People think the better car they have means that is how they are judged.

I was waiting for a new company car once and as my existing car was costing the company they asked if I would take a pool car. I agreed and was given a car which was several grades above what I was entitled to at the time but the arrangement still saved the company money.

I went to a meeting with a customer and and an Associate Director also attended. We met in the customer's car park and the first thing the AD said to me was "Why have you got that car" I explained the reasons, but he still put a formal complaint in to the MD as he thought me turning up in a better car than him would give the impression I was senior to him.

The ironic thing was after the meeting the customer called me and asked me to be his contact for the business connection as he thought the AD was "a complete dickhead".

The same AD once ordered new chairs for the junior staff in the office, even though the existing ones were less than 6 months old and there was no problems with them, as he did not like the fact the existing chairs had a back which was the same height as the one he was using. He was a very insecure person who had ridden on the coat tails of one of the senior directors. Once the senior director retired the particular AD was gone within 3 months.

Do they ever work in it? Every time I've seen it they're throwing a party. (Something that never happens in most offices)
