It's so important the new man is in soon imo. The more I read about Maric the more he seems to fit and there is just something about Still that worries me. Like we would be a stepping stone

It's his personality. I can see why some may see arrogance, but the flip side is that he's confident in his own ability and sure of himself. He's not going to be overawed by a club the size of Sunderland. He'll feel like he's up to the task.

Wonder if the new head coach will be there tomorrow. KLD wants an announcement just after the game ends apparently

Dodds' presser is very interesting. Always hard to tell entirely, and I could be wrong, but appears he's fully resigned to leaving. Seems like he's already disassociated himself from the club with the language he's using. Surprisingly critical of the players too...they get off scot free, need to reflect etc. Not a bad word for TM either...clearly rated him very highly.

I think you could be right there. I posted a while back about the language used by Dosss in his pressers and he would use the term we wanted this is we tried to do that, like it was a collective and I wanted him to be more confident and say I wanted this or that.
In this presser he used the term I want or wanted a lot more but it was definitely in a more negative aspect, he was fairly open in how he feels let down but also talks about the change in style to a more defensive approach and to play less open which I believe is where we kind of lost our spark.

You seem quite keen on him(?) which I find reassuring.

Just a thought on Will Still, we don’t know the ins and outs of his contract and the way it’s ended at Reims. He could well be completely free to join another club now. Or he could essentially be serving out a notice period for whatever time, within which another club might have to pay compensation. There’s precedent for this.

A stepping stone to a bigger club, but then I suppose like the players if the coach gets picked up by one of the big clubs then he would have done well here.
That's my point, he hasn't done anything yet to warrant a bigger club than us. If he's successful here then there will be interest in him

Sounds more like a mutual end to the contract imo.

However, it’s perfect timing for us either way.

It's annoying the **** out of me that I can't remember who this has happened with recently.

Feel like maybe it was Poch or Nagelsmann. They'd binned him but were demanding a fee for another club to take him.

We've heard the Reims board were ruthless bastards. Might not be as straight forward as free agency.
