He would fit into most top sides. Who needs a number 10? He looks a lesser player in a poor Utd team. That could probably be said for a few others too. Perhaps he would be open to a move - I’m sure he wants to win major trophies, which he has little chance of achieving at Utd in the foreseeable future.
Maybe I’m just misunderstanding it but it still seems a bit of a grey area as to how teams will be able fund the spending. Does it essentially mean your owners can invest as much as they want (within the cap) into the squad or that you can spend up to the cap depending on how much you make? Because if what Kaveh theoretically says and it’s 4.5 x the lowest teams media revenue which is £103m then I doubt many teams will make enough money to even spend £460m+ unless ownership investment is indeed permitted. If it opens the floodgates then I don’t get why City, Utd and Villa voted against it or why Chelsea abstained. As those clubs would have the capacity to spend more I’d imagine, especially a team like Villa, their owners are minted as far as I’m aware. ****ed if I know anyway, man. New rules every year in this thing lol.
The multiplier has yet to be decided but if you take the suggested 4.5 times the lowest club tv revenue it includes the wage bill so it's not just a transfer pot. The objectors will no doubt be the players because in effect it will be a wage cap.
Bear in mind 16 clubs voted for this. Man U. Man C, and Villa? voted against and Chelsea abstained? Not sure why Villa is against it.
Villa are owned by V Sports, which is a company owned by two billionaires. Nassef Sawiris, the richest Egyptian and Wes Edens, a private equity ****house.
Iirc their wage bill is currently a huge % of 'organic' revenue and has been for a while, so much so that they will probably be in FFP trouble next season if they don't add CL money to the purse. This will be the problem facing Newcastle next season too. They haven't yet expanded their global fan base and commercial interests to the level where revenue outside of owner equity matches and then overtakes wages and transfer fee expenditure. Of course the simple solution is to fabricate hundreds of shell companies all secretly owned by the same owners as the club, who then become willing "sponsors" of the club, thereby artificially increasing annual revenue even though there are thousands of empty seats at every home game. In fact, you could even be so brazen about this that you wear one of those sponsors on your nice sky blue shirt and also name your half empty stadium after them.
So Taylor denies Dortmond a penalty. A two handed push on the player who is jumping to head a goal . English refs. rubbish
Seems every time I watch a game in Europe Taylor is the ref! Anyway,Mabappe seemed asleep today and Dortmund seemed to rely on a heavy defence with a good attack.Second leg in Paris should be interesting.
Surely the criminal gangs from there currently in the UK would settle for deportation to Rwanda rather than having Taylor inflicted on their countrymen ??
Currently Aston Villa 2-4 Olympiakos. The bookies must be loving that one. Leverkusen are 2-0 up against Roma, too. Insane run.
I know the CL treble holds more weight/ prestige but what Leverkusen are doing is phenomenal. If they win the treble unbeaten, it might be the greatest feat I’ve ever seen in football - and it looks genuinely possible.
