That’s a good question. Why did they? They are owned by wealth just like we are.

I would have thought most PL clubs would have been against this proposal.

Will it inflate transfer fees even more?

Is it because they have landed top 4 and then all of a sudden the new rule will make it easier for us and others ?

But Villa can spend as much as us?

I know but they probably feeling they've climbed the mountain and are keen to try and cement their place only to find the clubs chasing them will get to exploit the new rule.

The entire idea I find confusing..... I don't understand how it makes anything sustainable... not that I care but I need an explanation on how it works tbh.

I don’t understand how it works alongside European rules

Nope, its because as much as you can spend up to £500m on transfers, wages and agents fee's you will still be stuck with the 85% or 70% of turnover restriction also.

Villa have been blown out the water with our Adidas deal in comparison to theirs, and blown out the water with shirt sponsorship and sleeve sponsorship in comparison to theirs.

The % part is isn't good for Newcastle either, but it's the anchoring there's two figures at play it's a game changer and they voted against it.

The salary cap alone wouldn't be good for Newcastle as we're already at around 75 % Villa 82% and they have their own adidas deal aswel as champions league money and sponsorship opportunities themselves remember.
