Thought I would do a quick poll to see what others people thoughts on the Salah issue are. From other threads does seem to be dividing people. Me personally I would sway towards selling him.

It would entirely depend on how much.

    £30 mill.... Not a chance. That's a No Sell-ah from me.
    £300 mill.... In a heartbeat. That's a Go Sell-ah from me.

I'm not sure where the tipping point is for me, probably around £80-£100mill where he goes from a no to a yes. I don't know who would be willing to pay that... so Will reply that I'm a No Sellah. But the moment that £100mill bid comes in, I'll switch.

Salah is obviously a great player, he's also slower than he used to be... Past his peak, but still a great goal provider.

He has value, but his value is declining. His wage also takes up what could pay two or three other first team players wages.

I'm not anxious to kick him out the club, but he's no longer irreplaceable either.... But it better be a large amount so we can get someone good in to try and fill his shoes. I think last summer was our last chance at getting mega millions for him.

I wouldn't give him a new contract though unless on drastically reduced wages.

    Sell at the right price.

I'd have sold him (at the right price) 3yrs ago though

I would have for the rumoured £150mill (after add ons) last summer.

We're not seeing the same circus around S.A. that we saw last summer before the summer even started. I think the year of silly buys by SA is over... We're back to normal.

And in a normal world, no one is going to offer us silly money for Salah anymore.

Agreed, but I never said silly money.

It's not just about the money we'd get for him either, he's rumoured to be on £350k per week, that's £18.2m pa

    I don't disagree... But playing devil's advocate...

How much does he earn back that any player we would be likely to sign wouldn't. (Since we don't buy ready made names)?

Salah is massive in Africa and Middle East, it's impossible to guess how much money comes to the club because Salah plays for us compared to if he didn't:

How many fans are now Liverpool fans solely because of Salah? Spending money on kits, tickets, and knick knacks....

How much extra have we been able to request in sponsorship deals because of Salah? No way to definitively prove how much he "earns us" simply by being Salah and wearing red.

Again, I'm playing devil's advocate here. I do recognize that his wage is massive.

That's an interesting point. I mean there is no doubt Salah is the biggest name ever in Arab football but...

The Middle East and North Africa aren't renowned for driving kit sales, this isn't like Son for Spurs or Park for ManU when Koreans would buy the shirts in the millions and fly over to England just to see them play.
Salah is from a significant poorer part of the world (ie North Africa) that has local clubs fans are very invested in and the Middle East is far more reserved when it comes to celebrity.

I'd say Salah's status in that Arab world is far more beneficial when it comes to advertising, sponsorship and investment. (and I'd question with Newcastle and Man City how much we are able to capitlise on the latter two)

    Doubt it.

May not be the same as last year, but the Saudi's mission is still the same. I expect big bids for players they really want, money is no block for them.

    All players come and go.

    Fowler
    Owen
    Torres
    Suarez
    Salah

Thry all have their best years and their slide so its really about finding the next one

We all know the Saudis are going to try play hardball now and hope salah publicly says he wants to go etc.

However we know he is very dedicated and all those positive things and we also know his ego is the only thing bigger than this records for us.

Regardless of how poor he's been since coming back from injury. I'd still say he's head and shoulders above every other forward we have at the club.

You can disregard the title of this video but these are some of the exquisite passes / should have been assists that Salah has produced this season.

Well that is definitely another problem.

Saving grace for the rest is that they are younger and should hopefully improve. And if they don't, there will come a point where they will need to be cut loose too.

Not really a fan of youtube clip shows, as they cherry pick the parts they want to in order to skew the point.

What I did see however is that Nunez's finishing is embarrasing

Not knowing the full story behind it, but if reports that Salah threatened to get himself red carded are true, I've lost a lot of respect for him and leaning more towards sell him now camp. Don't know full story there but that sounds very twatish

I saw something about that but couldn't work out what context he was saying it in. Only thing i can think off was threatening that so he would be suspended for the last 3 games.

I'm not joining in with speculation like this, it's not healthy for any party. I'll just wait and see what is said on the (ridiculous) documentary that's currently being recorded.

I'm not particularly interested in watching it but I'll watch it purely to base my own opinions prior to the inevitable mud singing we'll receive from it.

From what I have read the documentary isnt as intrusive as other clubs documentaries have been. I don't think they have been allowed in the dressing room apart from the Carabo cup celebrations. It seems more behind the scenes day to day running then matchday events. Still an unessary distraction we didnt need. They were also reporting no streaming service has picked up the rights yet.

Klopp had made it clear he was opposed to it, so perhaps he wouldn't allow any dressing-room stuff?

    Probably.

No good can ever come in a sporting sense from allowing thst access.

Even walking round Kirkby with a camera stuck in your face will hurt team spirit.

The lfc own TV cameras are let do certain places etc and you can see players walk in and they are on best behaviour etc.

Walking round Kirkby without a camera in your face is bad enough. :)
