3 out of 3 for Greaves. Realistically no one came close. Jaden - YPOTY Ozan - GOTS Ashbee - Academy POTS
If only there was an improvement/progress award. Coyle would have definitely got that! Let’s be honest, most of us wanted him as a back-up right back at the start of the season. Now, he is one of the first names on the team sheet.
I think the wrong Ozan goal won. The QPR one was good, but you see goals like it all the time. The Sheff Wednesday one was much better I thought. The way he beat the keeper so comprehensively, rooted him to the spot, with his body at an almost 90 degree angle such that it looked like the wrong decision to shoot at all, with that amount of aesthetic curve on it to take it way outside the post and back in again. Really special goal.
both crazy goals the angle on the QPR goal and for it to go over the keeper off the underside of the bar was nutty.
Greaves winning every single award, not made a single mistake all season. Going to be hard seeing him leave but the cash that’s coming in is going to set us up for the next step up.
I bet Roma wish they’d have made their interest real in Pre Season. They won’t bf able to afford him now.
I imagine so. Current FFP calculations would go out the window in place of a higher ceiling due to increased projected earnings so the 'need' to sell to fund strengthening wouldn't be there. We'd have an even bigger job to do with recruitment if we planned on competing next season I the prem to any degree, but the possession style of play - even the game play that has attracted a fair amount of criticism this season, would probably lend itself quite well to us pinching points in a bigger pond. Anyways, as you say, there's 5 big ifs there to overcome first. Beat Plymouth. West Brom lose to Preston. Perform well in 1st playoff leg. Perform well in 2nd playoff leg and go through. Win at Wembley. How gutting would it be if West Brom lose and we don't win at Plymouth?
