Probably a lot more expensive, also the lazy gits will still probably jump the barriers further down the road. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
It was never particularly quick getting across that crossing. Replacing it with a pedestrian underpass seems a great idea to me.
Isn't that the one that's been there since the bridge was opened? I think they've just revamped the path to it haven't they?
I might be wrong, but I thought the underpass just ran up High Street, rather than having access from the side of the A63, haven't they basically just added a path to High Street and tidied it all up?
That's pretty much what I suggested. You can see it on google maps from 2008 https://www.google.com/maps/@53.740...e0!5s20080701T000000!7i13312!8i6656?entry=ttu

King Arthur tattooed Hull City AFC onto my arm in about 1983, sure his parlour was next to Silver Cod by then?
Reminds me of when I first got married we lived on Victoria Dock. You could go under the bridge but you walked sharpish. On the way back I was ready to fight the world..
A mess deck story, urban myth or maybe it did really happen. Chatting generally about tattos with some of the crew, most of them regretted them. No more so than the lad with half his arm below a love heart totally black inked out, save for the name of his latest girlfriend. Talk then moved onto King Arthur, A Deckie Learner walked into the shop, "yes son, what can I do for you?" I want a galleon. Where do you want the galleon? On my chest. Come back with the f.....g chest, you can have a f.....g galleon.
Must have all moved on by now, lived on VD 3/4 years ago and never had any hint of danger under it on the way to old town! Then again i walked to town during daylight and back to the house pretty unaware of the surroundings
Maybe although it is already used by pedestrians anyway. End of Humber St to old town walkers go that way under the bridge already. It doesn’t really feel like an ‘underpass’ used to feel. It’s just a path next to a two way road going under a big bridge
