Good Afternoon. It's Tuesday 30th April, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

All Phillips is interested in, is playing for Leeds

Kelvin Phillips is only interested interested in playing for Leeds Utd, according to withheld sources discussing the 28yo holding midfielder with 'Football Insider'.

Phillips has endured a torrid two years (nearly) away from Elland Road since his £42m move to the Etihad. His loan spell to West Ham (in January) was supposed to get him back on track in preparation for the Euro's this Summer, but nothing has been further from the truth.

Furthermore the Hammer's coaches have criticised Phillips for his poor attitude in training. He sit's bottom of David Moyes 25 man squad with a 'Whoscored' rating of just 5.89 over 309 minutes of game time!

Sources suggest that Leeds Utd would be keen to broker a deal, but it would have to be around £15m, and only if they won promotion.

    Is Meslier a scape-goat

Conceding eight goals from twelve shots is never good, but is Leeds shot stopper Illan Meslier getting the rough end of the stick?

Still only 24, the 6ft 6' Frenchman has taken his fair share of flack since joining the Whites (initially on loan) in 2019. He quickly displaced Kiko Casilla after the Jonathan Leko affair, but due to a lack of competition for the No1 jersey, Meslier has become complacent.

It's easy to look at his 18 clean sheets this season, but when you delve deeper you see a shot-stopper languishing in 18th position with a save percentage of just 68.4%.

Huddersfield promise not to roll over at Ipswich Town

Huddersfield Town boss Andre Breitenreiter has assured Leeds fans that his side will go down swinging at the weekend, when they visit Ipswich Town.

It may be too late to same them from relegation, but the Terriers have a big say in who joins Leicester City in the Premier League (automatically) next season, if Leeds can overcome Southampton.

Barring a mathematical miracle, Town's draw with Birmingham City means they'll be playing League One football next season, but have promised to give it their all when they play Ipswich Town on Saturday.

“We have to be professional for the last game and maybe decide the promotion battle," the German said after the draw with Birmingham. "It’s our task to do our job.

"We want to finish the season with a good result and after we have hold conversations about individuals and about the future. "The whole analysis will take place after the season. It is difficult to win with 15 goals next weekend. But we weren’t relegated today.”

Morning all. Personally I wouldn't take a chance on Philips unless on loan and relatively small wages. He's three years gone and not a patch on the Calvin we had. Can't help but feel there are more twists left in this race. Probably Ipswich draw their last two and we lose to Southampton <doh> Update on our ticket situation, as it stands, most of us will be packed into the peacock for the Southampton game <doh>

    Morning Leeds fans.

    Got to feel sorry for Kalvin (I know many don't), but surprised to hear he's been sulking in training at West Ham, doesn't sound like him at all. The poor lad wants to come home. Frankly, I'd take him on loan for a trial period, on realistic wages and see how he gets on. But first Farke would need to tell him;

"You may be an international, and have won all the domestic honours there is to win under Pep. But as far as I’m concerned, the first thing you can do for me is chuck all your medals and all your caps and all your pots and all your pans into the biggest f*cking dustbin you can find. Because you’ve never won any of them fairly."

He can keep his 2020 Championship winners medal.

To say he's won honours, (he hardly got a game)or even Citeh have won them is really stretching it a bit there mate.
    They've definitely purchased them though.

Exactly the point I'm trying to make Olof, hence the Clough quote. He's got Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League winners medals when he's hardly played, and for a team that's bought (allegedly, some would say cheated) their way to success. If Citeh ever do get caught out (pigs might fly!) then I guess he'd have to hand them all back anyway.

KP won Citeh's player of the year last season, though they ignored it as they said there was outside interference...

As we all know if Coventry can win it, we are once again given a golden opportunity for auto's, beat Southampton and were their.
BUT were Leeds and we all know what's going to happen, Coventry will win and we will blow it against Southampton.
On the other hand we could all be celebrating Saturday night. <bubbly><bubbly><bubbly><somersault><somersault><somersault> Let's hope so.

    Morning all

Would it not be typical for Coventry to win tonight but we screw up against Southampton. Equally as weird if Huddersfield stole points and helped us.

KP no from me, since leaving I keep seeing reports about his fitness levels, maybe Bielsa broke him with murder ball.

I’m saying no without hearing what he has to say, maybe his heart just isn’t in it

    Ipswich to win tonight.

    Saturday 89th minutes gone, Leeds 1 - 0 Southampton and Ipswich 0 - 1 Huddersfield

The immortal words said by whoever replaced Jeff Stelling on Gillette Soccer Saturday. "We're going to Portman Road, where there's been a goal" to find out that the dog botherers have gone 2-0 up.

As the Elland Road crowd are celebrating, Paddy has a goal disallowed for offside, and Southampton immediately go on the attack and equalise.

It's written in the stars, tea leaves and sheep entrails.

If all this comes to pass, we should warn the NHS there is likely to be an increase in admissions to A&E around 14:15 on Saturday

If we missed out on promotion due to a penalty miss, it just can’t be Paddy

    Afternoon all

KP is a no go for me.

Don't want to think about tonight too much on the line but I'm at work tonight and I know I'll have my eyes on the live score on Google

Just to make you all feel better, Ipswich will win both games so stop dreaming. As I’ve always said it’s the hope that kills. Buckle up for the playoffs and let’s change that losing streak <cheers>

Even if Coventry won tonight do we have any confidence we can actually go out and beat Southampton with the run we’ve been on and after that battering last Friday?

If they play their first team, then....no.

If they decide to rest their first team in preparation for the playoffs, and play their under 21s instead, then....no.

I'd be very surprised if Ipsbitch fook this up now even though they not in the best of form themselves. I think what we really need to worry about is our own form as that last game was as flat as it's ever been. I always get excited before a game but i got nothing at all in that to be excited about from the first whistle to the last it was absolute miles away from what we needed.
