Disapointing defeat yes, but Barmby is on a steep learning curve. Yes maybe Dawson coming on was the catalyst for the very tame capitulation we witnessed, but as said previously, is has shown up the lack of depth we have in our squad, with a bench of Daws, McShane, Cairney and Adebola. Nick will have his own ideas of how he wants us to approach games and possibly doeant have a squad capable of fulfilling this desire. Remember this was only his second game as a manager and he will make mistakes, did all of you guys know everything about your jobs after only 2 weeks, highly unlikely. The problem he has is that his apprentiship will be carried out under the glare of the media and us fans, so dissapointment will probably rear its head. Yes we shouldnt have lost, but now is not the time to be having a go at Nick, he made a mistake, he will learn from it and hopefully it will make him a better manager. Lets get behind him and the team over the next few games and ensure he knows he has the backing of the Tiger nation.
the reality of the situation is that Barmby had to make that decision when he did and didnt have a great deal of options.
IMO, City had lost control well before dawson came on and thats maybe why he came on. Errors and shoddy play cost goals and Barmby wil have learned more from yesterday than at derby. Fryatts post game interview also summed up the game. Barmby also said it as it was and with no fudging. Time to move on and to a game that will suit Hull City down to the ground,,, Soithampton away tuesday night. UTT i shall be there, will U ?
Everyone was very quick to praise Nick after the Derby game, he's still learning and of course he'll make mistakes along the way (look at Villas Boas at Chelsea for example). He'll definetly take more from yesterday's game than he took from Derby, there's 4 games coming up in the next 2 weeks and he needs to keep everyone's heads up and try and take as many points as possible from the next 4 games. These next 4 games may well decide whether Barmby takes on the role of manager full time or not.
pretty sure most comments have leaded or ended with the line, barmby will learn, not having a go at barmby etc....not seen anybody actually slagging him off., just passing comment on what they thought went wrong.. it certainly works for me having him in the dugout, i cant remember the last time we threw away a 2-0 goal lead and i didnt end up wanting to punch or kick something in sight, i was still able to listen to the radio afterwards too without wishing somebody would punch the manager in the throat..
Who's his assistant again? He needs a decent, experienced number two to refer to in situations like that if he is still learning and unsure.
i didnt listen to radio after the match yesterday. Was it still the same negative neds and brans'urm idiots that 'umbersard enjoy matching up with Gwylum every week?
not as bad as usual to be honest, one guy did say barmbys inexperience showed, but to be fair wasnt really having a go, and was a fair point.... oh but one clown did say the allams have to go, we need billions to get to the premier league, not millions and they are out of there league...
born on North Hull Estate. Brought up on Derry Bank Estate by a single mum (as my dad died when I was 6 months old), one of three kids. My mum had 3 jobs at one point when I was little and she never had any social benefit, family income supplement or anyfing of a similar kind to help bring us up. I now have a house in Cott. A nice big un too! I also have other places further afield. So now I ve answered you in more words and detail than your reading age may allow you to comprehend, I suggest you go cash this week's family income credits, buy your copy of the Hull Daily Mail, get down to Soccer Sports on Kingswood to buy your new tracky and Nike trainers, turn on Sportstalk and complain about how bad the Council and Government are to you and your family! Does anyone else sometimes wonder why Hull has so little going for it?
