Exodus Watch Reloaded Estadio Deportivo claim that Bryan Gil wants to return to Sevilla this summer Is this...a bidding war? Exodus Watch: Fully Loaded Calcio Mercato claim that, while Genoa have the option to sign Djed Spence for €10m this summer, we are looking at using him as a bargaining chip to sign Albert Gudmundsson, who Genoa value at €35m Oh Yeah, There's Also This ...the BBC saying that Palace are willing to accept bids for £60m for Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise. That's £60m each, if that wasn't clear Nice of the ubermensch to pass on Eze when we'd reportedly been scouting him for ages...
Oof... The replies continue sticking the boot in: we were looking at Jarrad Branthwaite that season before Everton moved for him too
So a couple of years ago he traded the Mansourites' U18s for the Spammers', and this summer he seems set to move again Quite bizarre for somebody who hasn't played a second of football above PL2 level
Here’s hoping he watched the game thinking “I can fix them” rather than “**** that, I’m out!”. Interesting to see him there though in seriousness, it’s hardly a secret we’ve been interested in signing him.
I agree, his Instagram story has a fair few pictures on it and didn't look like a simple "trip out"...
With Werners season brought to a premature end , do we stick or twist with him ? Do we go for a younger homegrown or an older prem ready player , both homegrown is a must in my opinion
1000% Twist. Think we’d be absolute bonkers if we signed him and would deserve the bantering from rival fans that’d come our way.
I’ve generally been quite pro-Werner with the caveat that signing him permanently shouldn’t at all mean we don’t also sign a 1v1 specialist winger and a striker as well, who should be really being bought as starting XI contenders. That said it feels like his contribution has dropped off a lot. Even though the whole team has been a mess and that’s probably affected him, I’m less keen on it now than I was earlier.
I just can’t get on board with the logic of signing poor players, mate, makes no sense to me. It has similarities to signing Richarlison, albeit thankfully nowhere near as expensive, in that you just know eventually they’ll let us down and be a drain on resources.
Dragusin’s agent has been talking about his client’s situation, we’ve already seen he likes to talk a lot but I feel this time he probably has a valid point. He’s not said Dragusin wants out or anything - yet - but that basically his situation needs to improve whilst also implying Ange should play 3 at the back due to the amount of goals we’re conceding.
I agree , I hoped that Ange could turn him round but on those wages and £15 million there must be a better prospect ,shame as he seemed to fit the squad well
Considering what an annoying gobshite Dragusin's agent was during negotiations, it's reasonably safe if we ignore what noises come out the front of his head
I don’t even care about the fee or wages. I just don’t think he improves the squad. Flopped at Chelsea, flopped back at Leipzig and not wanted by anyone. Spurs have enough deadwood without adding to it.
That last sentence is bang on the money. You could guarantee that if we were to sign him, within 6-12 months we’ll be doing exactly what Leipzig have done and loan him out in the hope someone else takes the problem. Blows my mind a section of our fanbase actually want him.
Matt Law says we’ll be listening to bids for Richarlison, Emerson and Hojbjerg, whilst Bissouma isn’t essentially up for sale but offers would be considered. Still blows my mind we turned down £20m in Jan for Emerson, no idea if we’ll get that same offer again. Ange has been talking about needing to clear the decks too and that change is necessary so that’s quite refreshing.
I’ve actually been quite impressed with Werner with all things considered. He was underwhelming at Chelsea and had been on the bench at Leipzig for months. To have come in and produced what he has with us deserves some credit IMO. He’s not as bad as some make out. He’s not one to keep, as he doesn’t improve us and just adds to an already big list of “ok” players. And if we did keep him, there’s no way we’ll sign someone else in that position. So I’d rather we said thanks and goodbye.
