I was sitting at the front of the Medway stand today next to the fan who started this feud between him and Parky, he said to Parky "You are a ****ing idiot, I think you are a **** manager at a **** team", He did wind him right up, but Parkinson reacted badly and said "Come on then, ****ing come on you mug", and then a few other fans started chanting at him, "**** you and your **** football team" and then the stewards come up to him and said "You have to go" and he went to try and fly at the man who started it but they grabbed hold of him, pushed a bit forward out the way of our fans, but the fans still continued so he tried to come back and they dragged him a bit, Then they let go of him and he started shouting at the fans saying "You are a bunch of idiots, ****ing knob heads" and he started saying to the steward "Are you going to do anything, he is hurdling abuse at me, Do you not care or something cause they are gills fans, How can the fans swear at me like that?"

I think the fans were a bit abusive to him as you should never throw that much abuse at a manager, It was all cause of how Parky kept on moaning to the linesman during the game and how he kept shouting to the ref so at the final whistle this main person who was rather a loud mouth thought he would give some back to Parky but he went too far and really angered Parky.
Funnily after that the fan come up to my uncle who was at the game with me and said "Wow did you hear that Parkinson, what a dickhead how can he get away with what he said".
I did not know what to think as I think the man must have thought that what he had done was not wrong and it is ok to give abuse but if the person throws it back it is not ok.
I think in one way Parky was wrong to react like he did but the person was going to town at him, and he provoked others to join in and start hurling abuse at him, but having said that, everyone is a human and many people will react and I think the fans who done that were defiantly wrong just like the ones who booed Oli throughout the whole Bournemouth game from his first touch of the ball.

It is like a police statement I wrote, Only just thought it was very detailed, but it is cause I have been talking about it to a few friends so I thought I would include every detail. Much like a Journalist in the details of it.

Interesting story Hoadie, I must admit I have never liked Parkinson since he dragged out the Chris Dickson transfer with us and bad mouthed us in the press but there was no need for the level of abuse aimed at him today and he is entitled to react in a similair fashion if provoked. Your comment re Dennis Oli is very valid, alas some Gills supporters always need someone to abuse and now that McCammon, Miller,Gowling and Nutter have all departed our great club i`m afraid Dennis is next in line. Dont worry he will be ok, footballers have very thick skins, they have to at our level.

Ok, thanks for the detail Hoadie. I sit in the Medway Stand but never saw any of this going on. Strangely during I think it was the second half, I heard the Medway Stand section nearer the away fans or bench come into chorus, I thought it was odd!!! - lol

I just hope the Club does not get reported for this incident.

Parky is allowed to say what he likes to the officials, it is not the problem of Gills fans. Banter will happen if the home fans think the opposition manager is getting to vocal. However, it sounds as though this one went a little to far by a section of Gills fans, if I am reading your comments correctly.

I wish Parky and Bradford all the best for the rest of the season.

im not saying what the fan did is right but parkison shouldnt react at all. imagine if every player or manager reacted to the abuse they get from the fans at games, it would never end. the players and managers are trusted to take the high road and let it wash over them which must be hard and maybe he's been getting it in the neck for a while now and snapped

Yeah there is two different views to this, as they tell you in infants words do not hurt you so let it go over your head, the bigger thing to do is ignore them,
