I think we will win the league for Arsenal by taking a point off City, I know that sounds ridiculous, but I can see it happening.
Wouldn't mind them winning the league. Said it ages ago. If City win it again, there's little to no hope we'll ever lift the trophy without cheating. Whereas if Arsenal can do it, so can we. That gives me some hope.
We were expecting at least 8 - the facts are 4 subs = 2 minutes, VAR took 3, so 1 minute was added on for the other stoppages and the time wasting, that frankly is a joke.
Fans get behind the players ... if they don't the match atmosphere is awful...sanchez last season for example. I don't know a single spur who highly rates werner.
The biggest issue remains the fact that the midfield provide the back line with zero protection. This has been an issue for years and was bad enough last season when we had 10 men camped in our own half for 87 minutes. It has only gotten more crucial since switching to such a high risk system. We speak about the unit of Walker-Toby-Jan-Rose and how good it was, and whilst is is better on paper than the current line up, let's not forget that they had the luxury of Dembele and Wanyama dominating almost every team we faced. I understand why we didn't look for a CM last summer: we already had 5 on our books and it was worth giving them a go in the new system, but it is now clear that most of them aren't good enough for it and need to be moved on. CM and ST are the absolute priority this summer.
Do you prefer a version of reality where it is impossible to win the league without breaking 115 rules and having the financial backing of a nation state?
Werner’s just one of a number who have no place at the club, there’s a solid 7+ others in the same boat as him and I think most of us could more or less name the same bunch. We’ll agree/ disagree on them though and that’s fine But being fine with Arsenal winning the league is something I can’t and never will get behind. For me that’s just going against everything I am as a Spurs fan.
Mate your chances of winning the league go up and down exactly 0% if they win it. This is a terrible take.
I wasn't expecting much support when I wrote that I'm just genuinely worried that the PL is quietly heading in the same direction as Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga with one team dominating, albeit worse because their dominance comes through openly cheating. I'm surprised that a number of posters on here will rant about money ruining the game, sportswashing and corruption and still prefer City to win the league over a team not doing/doing less of the above. All for the sake of some playground-level bragging rights. If you don't want Arsenal to win the league 'at all costs', you need to embrace the cheating and corruption apparently needed to stop them. You can't have it both ways.
No its not, I don't want Arsenal to win the league (and I don't think CK does in his heart either). But I understand the sentiment 2 seasons we beat Arsenal in this fixture and they finished 5th if 2 years later they win the league, then if we finish 5th this year its gives us hope that we can do the same. However unlikely that is, it sets precedent that we can try to follow, you can laugh I am sure you will. Another point is that City winning the league again (5th in a row?) is not a good look for a league that claims to be the most competitive league in the world.
Yes. That isn't the same thing as saying I'd enjoy watching Arsenal win the league. I'd hate every image and every article. But it would be a victory of sorts for the sport overall. So I'm willing to take the pain for that.
Leicester was a precedent and it changed nothing. Does anyone care if it’s a good look for the league? You care about your club and the clubs you hate most above that stuff surely.
