We are at present the form team in the league, by my reckoning.

Whatever happens next weekend, I don’t think it’s unfair to say it’s been a brilliant season. We can talk all day about what ifs and missed opportunities, but the final table doesn’t lie and if we’ve come up short by next weekend, it’s because there’s things we still need to work on. If you miss out on a promotion at work, it doesn’t mean you’re **** at your job, it just isn’t your time (or your boss is a ****).

I never thought we’d make the playoffs, so to be in with a chance going into the last week is a fantastic achievement. The style of football we play seems to have settled down into a free flowing, attacking tactic that teams struggle to deal with. Liam seems to be adapting it and the players seem to know their roles.

Whatever happens in the next seven days, we can look back on this season as one of progress and potential.

    Well done to all involved.

Simply not true. We looked good back in the autumn/early winter and then lost Delap, Philogene and Mika and we really struggled. After January we had a little sticky spell as we it took us time to bed players in, get them up to fitness and find the most effective XI

Anyone in the West Stand make out what was going on between Greaves and Tufan in the second half during a stoppage? Looked like quite a heated discussion.

Will wets brum stick or twist, it’s the question I’ve been discussing with my grandson. A draw is enough for them, a win obviously. But if they try and play for a draw it could blow up in their faces in the last minutes. Imagine this scenario “ 2 minutes to play, hull city are winning at Plymouth and West Brom are drawing. But wait a minute, preston have scored “
    We can but dream lol

Regardless, we've regularly never looked like scoring in a million years in various games. 4 or 5 pot shots from outside the box with 60 something percent possession is poor, however you dress it up.

West Brom will play with nerves, Preston will be carefree and in some cases playing for a contract next season, either at Deepdale or elsewhere. How that plays out is anyone's guess, but the ingredients are there for a Preston win.

that would be the games where we would get a throw in towards the opposition penalty area and then think it's a good idea to work the ball back to our keeper - thankfully that nonsense has largely been consigned to the bin - Ipswich tried a bit of Rosieball yesterday and Seri, who usually gets caught out when we play Rosieball, became poacher turned gamekeeper and set up Tufan nicely for a great equaliser

We probably did that eight or ten times last night. Certainly many times.

We did, you're right. The difference is how frequently we were doing it compared to now doing it on occasion. It was pretty much every single time without fail at one point.

Interestingly, whenever we went back like that last night we ended up turning over possession more often than we kept it. We'd pass back and then end up playing a long ball which usually ended up with Ipswich possession.

What I didn’t understand about that ‘advantage’ was that very quickly an advantage didn’t ensue, in that Philo was closed down quickly by keeper. Why can’t the ref then go back to the original free kick. If it’s a rule that he can’t, the rule needs changing. I& he could have, it was a mess up. But yes, ref miles better than the idiot officiating the Coventry game where both teams had cause to complain.

He should have, it's meant to be something like 5 seconds and if the advantage doesn't eventuate it comes back for the FK.

Did anyone notice their first goal-scorer doing a lame piss-take of Carvalho's last celebration?

We’re coming bang into form just at the perfect time it’s gonna be pretty gutting if we finish 7th and feel like a huge missed opportunity.

Still buzzing after last night’s game. Looking back at the highlights, Tufan’s second headed miss was horrid (although he played great overall and took his goal brilliantly). It’s not the first time he’s headed over when easier to score (not including the two last night). A bit of practise on that in training leading up to Plymouth wouldn’t go amiss, though suspect he might drop to bench for Delap. I’d be tempted to bench Morton, though, and just play the more attacking shape we played in second half last night from the off. We need to win, ideally by seven goals as that will overhaul Norwich if they lose to Brum. But even 4-0 might give us an extra chance if Birmingham play to their potential.

I can't see Preston going to West Brom and caring that much....easy home win....Hope I am wrong and we do it at Plymouth, but this game has shades of Swansea about it.

Also, how our players raced back to the centre circle after scoring. Quite the opposite of theirs! It looked like an instruction.

You can’t fault Ipswich’s will to win games. The amount of winners they’ve scored in stoppage time is crazy.
