Hard to tell. Has the right wheels, splitter and boot spoiler but they could all be add ons. A close look at the V5 would be needed. Interesting project car............... 5 days left..........
I could be wrong, and it may have had an interior change, but I think the R had suede seats and some kind of R branding which made me think it's an R wanna be. There are a few of those out there.
Not a bad car but have you considered that for a little more money you can get a decent R33 Skyline GTS 25t of the same sort of age?
To be fair Cosi.. It's not the most pretty of cars nor the most powerful, but when you open one of those up, the sound is phenomenal. Plus you can take a couple of kids and dogs with you on the joy ride.
Yes. I've driven them. Good, solid car but the front wheel drive suffers from scrabble understeer, front lift under hard acceleration and mild torque-steer, although always predictable. The Skylines are also proper 4 seaters. I still run an R33 NISMO 400R which can legally transport 5 people - and in reasonable comfort too! Admittedly this is a bit quicker than a 25t but the latter will see off a T5R and has the benefit of rear wheel drive, an even better engine and beautiful, understated looks - especially when sitting next to the brick!
Blimey. An "idiot" and a "right wing nutjob". I prefer "patriot". Still keeping my fingers crossed that Lewis or Jenson can it pull off a victory for us.
You're right on the understeer part... The thing always took some wrangling in to corners, combine that with the body roll and sometimes you felt like you were hanging on for dear life. Oh.. and shut your face with your Skylines. *jealous*
Alternatively, if McLaren win, they could also play national anthems for the engines and tyres, but the podium ceremony might take a bit longer. Perhaps a short medley of all the national anthems that covers the country of origin of every component of every car is the answer...
Nationalists like TB always wrap their xenophobia in the guise of 'patriotism'. They want us to 'preserve our heritage' which has been stolen from everyone who has invaded us, which is pretty much everyone from Europe. Anyone who has come across True-Blue before knows he is just a Nationalist BNPer so I'd suggest people stop trip-trapping over his bridge. And PLC, Jive Bunny to do the anthem remixing?
How very dare you Miggins. I support the Conservatives and am proud to do so. Xenophobia is a made up NL word used to silence those concerned about the effect of mass immigration on our country's limited resources. All I actually said is "how will our boys do". People are making too much of it.
Several posts in this thread refer to the playing of National Anthems. Are some forgetting the roots of motor sport and international competition? Listen guys, these values are worth hanging on to: pride itself is at stake! There is nothing wrong with being 'proud', so long as this is not taken to such extremes as to become an excuse for victimisation. Pride can involve many things, for example: one's appearance; but is more commonly associated with 'achievement'; be it of oneself, family, town, city, county, state, country; or even one's employer! Gordon Bennett! Have some people overlooked that Grand Prix racing was originally conceived as a competition between nations, and that this even explains the meaning behind the colour of paint such as 'British Racing Green'? It began in France (blue) but Britain (green - actually borrowed from the Irish), USA (crimson red), Belgium (yellow), Germany (pure white and later silver after they raced without painting their cars), Italy (scarlet red) all quickly took an interest, with Japan (ivory white) joining in later. It also explains why McLarens were 'orange': Bruce McLaren was Australian and - as a representative of his country - chose to use the deep yellow/orange associated with his country. The idea of the colours was to make it clear for everyone who wanted to 'cheer' for their country. As in "Come on ***** *******!" (or whichever country one felt allegiance with). In international sport, all competitors represent their country. Since the first days of international sport, 'official' celebrations have involved the winner being honoured with the music of his/her country. In other words, is nothing less than tradition: a tradition based upon the patriotic representation of one's country. - - - Long long ago it was considered treasonable to 'support' a country not of one's birth. In a sense, we may have seen evidence of a few 'traitors' in our midst, in this thread! N.B. Death was (and in many countries still is) the penalty for treason.
Good post cosicave. I can't believe it's not raining. McLaren set up for the wet. Why do McLaren ALWAYS make the wrong call?
