Someone posted this on the HDM live scores thing. I have no idea of the source so please don't shoot the messenger:
    "[Comment From matt(notts tiger)matt(notts tiger): ]
New Hull City boss Nicky Barmby has gave five targets to the board he would like to recruit in the January transfer window. -Derby's 23 year old midfielder come right back James Bailey is interesting Barmby as the former England international looks to recruit the former Crewe player for an undisclosed fee. -Barmby is keen on bringing in Walsall captain Andy Butler. Butler plays centre half and is keen on a move back into the Championship, where he played for Blackpool and Scunthorpe United. -Former Chelsea youngster Danny Philliskirk is set to join on a nominal fee from League 1 side Sheffield United after Barmby had a fee accepted late Sunday night for a move in January. -Former Scotland striker David Clarkson is in talks with Hull from Bristol City after Barmby had a £200,000 bid accepted for the former Motherwell hitman. -Finally, Barmby is also expected to complete a deal for another striker in Plymouth's 17 year old striker Matt Lecointe. Lecointe is interesting a number of top Championship clubs but Hull are set to bag the youngster on a four year contract."

I can tell you now, Butler is a poor mans McKenna, he already had 2 red cards this season (My Walsall supporting mate doesn't rate him much either). Clarkson isn't bad but isn't a match winner. Philliskirk isn't bad, but he's a midfielder if I'm not mistaken. Lecointe I don't know much about but if he can do it at 17 he might be worth a look.

My options would be to get Manonne in on loan with a view to a permanent, then go for Sammy Ameobi at Newcastle or James Brown from Hartlepool.

Good because I just had a look on Wiki and I wouldn't want any of them - don't know about Matt Lecointe because at 17 he's an unknown quantity.

I think there might be rather a lot of competition for him, I've seen several articles with comments like this - Liverpool, Man Utd and Arsenal are all tracking Plymouth Argyle wonderkid Matt Lecointe, said to be the new Alex Oxlade -Chamberlain.

Why are we being linked with Maynard when we have 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance in getting him? He'll go to Leicester or some lowly premier league club like Norwich or Wigan or something. Same with Rodriguez, who I would love to get btw.

    I'd go for:

    Mannone/Guzan
    Ryan Bennet
A winger and maybe a striker.

Mannone, a striker, and a loanee or two from the premier league for experience in midfield.

    Manonne

and two players for the bench to help us change games. A solid midfielder to help us consolidate games and an attacking/creative player to help us change games.

Otherwise squad is great, just a lil light.

Maynards already turned down a move to Leicester - And I'm sure we would all agree you wouldn't want a player who doesn't want to be at your club

Billy Sharp is coming to us in the Jan transfer window. Cliched statement...but you've heard it here first. He's one of Barmby's best buddies and he has striked up a deal with him.

did this not come from that Football Rmours she-ite site ? i would thinks its all aload of ball-docks, but the plymouth one may have some truth in it. but i would expect barmby to have better targets than these. :emoticon-0107-sweat

for me thats also a good shout. With oli and garcia due back soon the squad is about good enough. I would also bring back cooper as along with mcshane we have enough defensive cover.

Unless they start awarding points for step-overs, I can't see that Brady is ever likely to help us move up the league.
