He’s probably looking at it as (2 x 3)+1. You could argue that he’s right as his contributions have resulted in two wins and a draw. The idea that the two wins remain draws without his goals is purely hypothetical, as they could also become losses if he doesn’t score. It’s not hypothetical that the games ended the way they did, and that he scored in them, therefore earning 7 points. All depends on how you frame it.
You have to be really proud of the club tonight... everyone laid it on the line and as has been said Ipswich had 2 weeks to prepare.. difference for me was their gamesmanship, ****housery, call it what you will. And as a club whoo are still learning, I hope that they learn from corners, because I'm guessing Hutchinson has done that more than the 2 tonight. Feel for Tufan, who was sublime in places and then at the start of the second half two headed chances he might just have put away. Really really disappointed again with Philoigene. In the big games you need your big players and again he hasn't turned up. Tonight also showed for me how we must, just must try and get Delap, in fact that final frenetic 10 minutes h and Ohio seemed to work well together. Allsop was excellent, Jones, not so much.. Still in it, still got to believe and properly thinking whether a 4.30am start Saturday might be feasible...
Well that was a great advert for the Championship, they picked a good one to televise. Shame we left it a couple of games too late to really gel, but at least we go into the last game with something to play for (however slim the chance). If by some miracle we were to get into the playoffs, I’d really fancy us, we’re definitely one of the best teams in the league now.
Ipswich are a very good team and certainly not averse to using the dark arts. However, City showed real grit tonight and a draw was about right overall. A great game.
I agree LR has done a great job building this team odd results have let us down but we have had a great season better than most of us expected.
amazing piece of defending at the end with Allsopp, Greaves and Jones throwing their bodies on the line to keep the ball out - couldn't believe it didn't go in
Great game of football. Entertaining from minute 1. Can’t believe we let Hutchinson score the same goal twice though. He was lurking in that area for every corner, waiting for the ball to drop. Clearly something they’ve worked on.
