Not DWs fault at all today, we’ve had more than enough chances to win the game but didn’t take them. The subs were largely positive, not sure why big Sud didn’t come on for Barnes. Neither Barnes or Rowe looked fit enough to feature
A point closer, Hull likely need 2 wins from 2, 4 points unlikely to be enough for them with our goal difference. Last day of the season both teams playing teams teetering on the precipice of league one, should make for an interesting day if not an enjoyable one! At least whatever the Hull-Ipswich result is tonight, we're unlikely to be too upset by it.
Rowe was very lively last week but offered little today. Two excellent goals scored but the penalty was crushing. Duffy had two headers cleared off the line and we had so many chances. Yes, we're good enough Robbie, but you aren't.
Always makes me laugh when I hear, so called fans, moaning that we might not make the play offs, when only a few months ago they were predicting we'd be in a relegation battle, at this point of the season.
All the teams in the top 6 seems to be slipping up. A game we should have won, but we still go above West Brom. I'll be honest, I didn't expect us to be where we are a few months back, so although the last couple of games has been disappointing, we've got to be happy where we are.
Seems like a defeat but these 1 point draws & unbeaten run could just be enough to get us over the line West Brom losing has given us another option as 3 teams scrap over the last 2 places . With 7 games to go we still had a chance of play offs & collapsed last season . It's down to the players who all presumably are desperate to play Premier league football & get bumper pay rises so if they are good enough they need to prove it next week.
It’s easy to feel like these results are dissapointing but we are still picking up points while others in the top 6 are losing, as you say an unbeaten momentum could be enough to see us through
Can you name anyone on here who predicted we were going to be in a relegation battle at this point in the season?
If I could be arsed to go back through all the messages then, yes. I could probably also find at least one poster who implied it, but didn't have the courage to nail their colours to the mast and make an unambiguous prediction. Having said that my comment wasn't aimed specifically at posters on this forum, but the fair weather fans in general, you know the type !!!
There were certainly serious concerns expressed about relegation for several weeks. Much of this was put on Wagner's inability to turn things around and there were many putting that view forward.
https://www.not606.com/threads/how-long-do-we-give-him.354640/page-54 "It's surely obvious to everyone that Wagner is not the future. Those three results may have "kept us in touch with the top six", but also highlighted how far off being genuine top six quality we currently are" Any guesses who posted this ?
