Whilst straw clutching, Leeds will be so pissed off and down that they didn't make the Autos after blowing it. Let's face it, we were never really in it and always chasing. 3 v 6 will probably mean Leeds lose to Norwich.
I meant beating Leeds in the playoff final What will actually happen is a WBA v Norwich playoff final
Isn’t a bit embarrassing that ex League 1 Ipswich will get promoted , whilst ex PL Leeds and Southampton will have to fight for the third place consolation prize. Whoever does the recruiting at Ipswich, manager or players, should have the freedom of the city.
Dare I say it but the nucleus of our team was recruited by one Paul Cook formerly of Portsmouth! McKenna then came in and has coached the hell out of all of them and improved them beyond measure, We have been helped with key loans for Kieffer Moore, Omari and Sarmiento this season of course.
Yeah I was a bit shocked initially by the start you guys made, 8 or so games in, but it doesn't surprise me you've kept it going. Clearly a much more settled team and coherent playing style than the relegated sides, particularly Saints. Our fans tend to think just because we have a few Prem-level players in the team, that we should be comfortably in the top two, winning every week.
Our fans tend to think we shouldn’t get beaten by Cardiff reserves or fail to win ten matches after taking the lead. Crazy bastards.
Not to that Cardiff team. Ipswich have demonstrably been more consistent than us - check the table. Ipswich have only failed to win from a winning position 4 times all year. They have a top 5 defence. Ours is the 9th worst. So many legitimate complaints. At this point I think you are just trolling anyone who things we aren’t as good as we could be.
Yes, and that's why I said I'm not surprised that they have kept up their form throughout the season. They are a team, whereas we are a group of individuals, mostly all new to each other, with a new manager and a new playing style. If you think I'm trolling, just ignore me. I have to ignore 90% of the posts on this forum these days lol.
Well it is these sweeping statements - our fans tend to think we should be comfortably top two. It is just nonsense. We are some of the most pessimistic fans I ever saw. I think we all would have taken third and playoffs before the season - but the last month of results has been dogturd. Failing to win TEN times having led is diabolical. Having the 9th worst defence in the whole league is appalling. And we do have a few premier league players- as you pointed out- so our expectations SHOULD be higher than this. So tired of this ridiculous snarkiness about out fans being arrogant or having unrealistic expectations. Ipswich fans would have had the same expectations when they were relegated. So yeah, trying to score points about what the fans think - when I have not seen your viewpoint expressed by anyone at all - is definitely trollling.
Yes, our recent form has been disappointing. However, check the form of the 'big 3' over the last ten games. It isn't just Saints who have stuttered. And remember we've been playing practically every 3 days for the last month. Last 10 games: Leeds: 17 points Saints: 17 points Leicester: 16 points I'm just not personally as surprised or angry as others about everything. Is that okay with you?
That is fine. Commenting on the arrogance of saints fans from a basis of nothing is not. I don't know a single person who thought we would be comfortably top two in real life. Maybe you need a break from social media.
I did take a break. I haven't posted for a week. Your turn maybe? A person doesn't always need to directly state that we should be top two. It's fairly obvious what the general consensus is though when people are losing their sh*t every time we fail to get three points.
I think you are just projecting. The only ****-losing I have seen all season was when we lost 4 in a row at the start and then when everyone said three times at 1-0 up we would lose and we did. Because capitulation is depressing once - but when you capitulate 10 times in a season it is horrific.
I'll be honest I've no idea how that stat compares to other teams. It shows that we are good at scoring early goals though. How many times have we got a result having been a goal down? I mean, one team has to score first.
