I loved that day we sent them down, the blue moon song was being belted out all around Portman Road but not by the Man City fans.... Blue moon, you got promoted too soon, and now you're going back down, while Europe is coming to Town!! Bloody loved it, I was well pist that day too!!
I believe they would if available to your coach but hey, it’s all opinion. (I’m talking Piroe and Gnonto) Better players vs better team - This is my point and why if anything we are under performing or at best as expected. When you look at what Bielsa did with what he had available it was spectacular. Compare Farke and it’s nowhere near on par. It’s like praising Pep at Man City, throw any coach into that position they’d be near the top
I think most football fans and media would put more Leeds player than ours in a combined eleven. They have the higher profile players, most with Premier League experience. It’s another question whether they’d be worth it in terms of higher wages and financial spending. In my opinion - Ampadu, Gray, Summerville, and Rutter (possibly both Meslier and Piroe) would be upgrades on what we have currently.
If we go up, we get 7 or 8 loan rats back that need their futures sorting first. I don’t think we’ll spend big so another dog fight near the bottom and the occasional 5-0 drubbing is expected. Meslier is a poor keeper, if you think he’s an upgrade on yours Nuggets you want to hope you get a new one in sharpish if you go up
I remember this day, although was nowhere near old enough to be pist . 6 months after relegating City we beat Inter Milan, both of last seasons Champions League finalists...its amazing how quickly a teams fortunes can change
Hladky has saved us countless points this season and there wont be many Town fans who would want to see him replaced! Not sure what my esteemed fellow poster was thinking of when he thinks Meslier is an upgrade! If we go up then we will definitely need upgrades and what I really like about us now is that there will be a clearly defined strategy already in place for player recruitment. Gone are the days when we were left scrabbling around in the bargain basement for loanees and players that no one else wants,
Is Meslier doing badly? Always thought he was a decent keeper in the Premier League. In which case I take it back, but stand by the others. Gray in particular I think can have a really strong career. I like Hdlaky, but I’m not sure if he’s Premier League quality.
Don,t have a go at me Bigal, I was replying to Royston, he is the one that failed to see that it another post
I think he will feature in our squad and even as 1st choice for a while. He deserves to, as apart from his occasional lapses of lunacy he deserves to.
The Premier League will be a completely different proposition. We have no idea who would cut the mustard. But if I compare Hladky with Richard Wright - probably the fourth or fifth best keeper in our history - I think Hladky is an equally good shot stopper with more to his game, so why not?
Back to Hull, we dont want a slow start after our long break. They will come out the blocks knowing they will tire in 2nd half. And please no silly early slip ups and conceding early goals and having to chase the game. If we can weather the early storm, we can unlock them on the counter and push on 2nd half with our usual great sub changes, and control the game to finish strongly. Keiffer will be his better self, a stronger presence & score again. Omari will dazzle, and hey, lets hope either Burns or Hirsty can come on for 15 mins. Our travelling fans will go wild, but it will be a tough game.
This is going to be a stressful 60+ minutes coming up. Is this the 6th or 7th game we have had to endure since we last kicked a ball?
