I'll be honest then some folk won't have a bad word said about this lad but he has been minging for a while and the defensive line is non existent. Konate is not arsed. Earlier in the season when all was well he was defending with his life alongside vvd. Announcement, little injury and next thing he's trotting out behind the line, being lazy not going for stuff hard and the kine and organisation is totally gone. Of the others I think nunez head has dropped as the midfield has fallen apart but 100% salah isn't too bothered Jones hasn't come back right imo he's never that brilliant but take a yard off and he is woeful, not his fault. Macca is absolutely leaden legged. He looks like fabinho did after 20/21 where he was also overplayed massively and rushed back a couple times Robertson has been a shadow, at times he's bombing along and then others he's woeful like tonight. Again after injury he can't play the amount of games Trents only back but his defending is non existent, behind tge line such as it is, nomtackles, nothing. Hes just not anywhere near fitness imo and is pressed into action imo. Its not his fault Szobo is another I'm suspect of. The drop off compared to Hungary performances is massive and inexplicable. Its like he's decided playing ar cm isn't for him and he just needs to see off klopp. When you start with your best options of a half fit gk, rb, Lb, rcm and lcm that's 5 players being carried before we talk the overplayed 6 and not too arsed rw and rcb They are struggling though and every single time this happens they need a few weeks and one game a week to work it out. We could easily have a losing streak now and that's the issue.
Spurs max is 78. If you assume they beat us at a field in the nightmare scenario then we need 5 points max out of 9 or a win and 2 draws. West ham Spurs, Villa Wolves Suddenly starting to look very much wobbly. Luckily for us le'arse play spurs so we can cheer them on and maybe hope a meteor strikes city v spurs game rather than have anything to do with that ****e. Maybe a win v a side knowing moyes is gone and a spurs draw or loss will see us home. Spurs games look tough.
I know exactly what you mean now. I'm cheering on City and Arse when they play Spurs - the best we can achieve now is 3rd, and even 4th is not guaranteed.
We will get beaten by Villa for sure. It makes the West Ham game very important. They have been poor recently but will probably raise their game against us. Very few positives to take from tonight
Not arsed is a good description of a few of the team. Konate strikes me as a sturridge, absolutely astonishing when things are going well, suddenly injured or sluggish when things are hard. Salah is on his way. Salah has always been about salah, his time is over here, he knows it and he's looking to go. The down turn has coincided with his return. I do wonder if him being half fit, not arsed but still being first choice has had a ricochet effect on the team. Jones is poor, always has been. If he wasn't scouse, he wouldnt be anywhere near the team. Robertson is older, his gane is all about pace and power, they're the first to go. Bozo, I feel for. He's run his bollocks off all season, even today he ran behind again and again, nobody found him. Actually nobody even looked for him. But who do you think has decided they are gone?
I didn't watch the game and I'm glad I didn't. Not the result I was expecting. Derbies have draw written all over them whatever the current form of the teams happens to be so wasn't expecting a big win. We haven't been right since the utd game. The players seem to have lost belief and as we get closer to the end of the season, Klopp's leaving is hitting home. Still think we're in a lot higher position than anyone expected at the start of the season, it's the manner in which we're losing that is hard to take. I think the council agreed an open bus parade for the end of the season for the city to give Klopp a memorable send off, this was before any trophies were won so not dependent on that. At least we get to see the League Cup again.
that's the truth - I'd have bitten your hand off in August for 5th place (I think all expected that would do for a CL place) and a final in Dublin, dropping in on relatives I haven't seen for a decade. I thought it would be City and Arsenal again (and it will be now), but with United and Chelsea taking 3rd and 4th. Had no idea that United would implode. But that was all before Klopp said he was going. I thought this season would be building, next season consolidation, and the season after (Klopp's last) would be the glory season. Ah well, as they say - if you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plans.
Well we have thus far. 5th and no trophy last year Personally I thought top4 and Europa. Missing the Europa and the decline to the season is huge disappointment though. I expect us to play to the end, not meekly whimper out. The LC is something, but honestly I don't really have much care for the domestic cups, they've both kind of lost their luster in recent years. Nice to win but in the long run nobody really cares and a month later everyone forgets who won it. Only consolation if City do win the league is that Pep is another season closer to being bored and ****ing off.
Working abroad so missed this game….am gutted. I have West Ham tickets and was hoping that we’d still be in the hunt….ah well….the wheels are off but we’ll still enjoy it
I reckon our team can't play without everyone at a level and willing to go forward in the press. the forwards are not really at it. the midfield can't get around, the back line drops off but is a shambles in shape. until they get time to work on the shape and get at least focused on getting pressing high up with a bit of energy this malaise of cannot score will continue. if feels exactly like last season where they imploded for 5 disastrous weeks in a row. we set records for how bad and it was really narrow losses and we simply could not score a goal. why? shape and running. we have to all press up of klopps tactics implode.
Van Dijk laying into them. "Do they really want to win the league?" asked Van Dijk. A scathing Van Dijk told Sky Sports: "If you play like this overall in the game and not win any challenges and give the referee an opportunity to give a free-kick away then we have no chance to win the title. "Very disappointed in so many ways. Everyone has to look in the mirror and look at their own performance and think if they gave everything. "It is a tough one and obviously we have to do better against a side near the relegation [positions] it is time to focus. "If you play like today we have no chance to consider ourselves in the title race."
I suggest he should have started after utd league game and should have absolutely laids into his own back 4 line after 3mins yesterday. moaning after the fact is useless.
He has a point but he has been poor as well in quite a few games in the last month or so. Does seem something isn’t quite right in the dressing room at the moment
Quite looking forward to someone coming in with zero loyalty to any of these players, should give them a right kick up the arse. You can have bad patches and lose games, but the manner of these defeats this month has been ****ing appalling tbh
Why no Gravenberch as well? Gets a vital goal and doesn't see a minute the next match - not great is it.
And if he'd shrugged his shoulders and said "that's life", what would you think of him then? He's just showing that they know it's not good enough, which is what we'd expect.
