    He was Greek, Turkey didn't exist when he was born, but it's believed the place he was born in is now in Turkey.

    Not that it makes any difference, many patron saints had nothing to do with the places that they're patron saint of.

    Better tell the Welsh about dragons. There was no Italy when the St George Cross was used. it was not unified until the 19th century. It was the symbol of Genoa. Other red crosses used in areas of what is now Italy, such as the one on AC Milan’s shirt were the cross of St Ambrose.
