Looking at their posts I think it would be beyond me. If VAR don't see a error the ref does not review his decision. Dermot Gallagher reviewing decisions on sky does not think it was a penalty. I think to give a penalty it should be nailed on. I would not be convinced that Aaron Wan-Bissaka arm positions are unnatural, and that he could get his arms out of the way.
According to Sam Matterface & Lee Dixon the pen for Coventry should not have been given......they said "what else could he do with his arm".. I bet many experts felt the same......... IMO the rules are not clear enough either way, otherwise it wouldn't be a discussion
I think the rules are very clear. In this case I do not think it was a penalty. I have explained why. Do you think it was a penalty, or not?
I think it was as much of a penalty as the one given yesterday.....I agree it was a bit harsh, but unless there's a consistency throughout then it will always be controversial
How about the Grealish 'non' penalty ? Then there was Ashley Young. I'm glad that Forest were on the wrong end of penalty decisions. How they've responded is reprehensible, scandalous in fact. They never called out the ref in their Championship play off final. Some of the decisions in their favour were beyond belief and so bad that photos on the net appeared of the ref carrying a white stick.......yet not a word from Huddersfield. Suck it up Forest.
we have had apologies from the ref's that they made wrong 'un but we didnt get the points award in retrospect. so it is what it is.. in the good old days before slo mo and rewind conversations on the ref being blind or not were usuallt gone a short while after pub closing
Because I wouldn't have liked it against us (it was a close call)....obvious........But like the Norwich goal looked offside....it's a decision we have to accept.
It hit his arm, but not intentional...the decision was it was handball, on another day it wouldn't have been given
I remember watching City at their ground a few years ago. We lost 1-0 but had about 6 strong penalty shouts - none of which were given. We took no end of stick from their fans on forums afterwards - referring to ‘all those ridiculous penalty shouts’ and calling them ‘embarrassing’ What comes around comes around…….
I should have said his arm stopped the cross.. maybe that’s more specific for you.. it was more of a handball than the one Coventry was awarded imo. What do you think Clifton’s side kick?
As I posted, "Looking at their posts I think it would be beyond me". I can confirm a few posts later, it is.
