How's this for a scenario, yes I know I'm ****ing mad but. Soton beat Leicester tomorrow, then Leicester draw their last 2. We beat QPR but lose to Soton Ipswich win 1 draw 1 lose 1 Soton win their last 3 games. We all end up on 93 points
Not quite! Leicester +41 Ipswich +40 (beat relegated Huddersfield 9-0) Leeds +40 (lose 4-0 to Saints)
Not if Southampton win each their last 2 games by 5-0 after beating Leicester 1-0 and we only beat QPR 1-0. In fact Southampton can get away with only beating Stoke 4-0 due to the fact that they have scored more goals than us, unless of course Ipswich beat Huddersfield 9-0 as LDS suggested Me and LDS bringing positivity to the thread Put mine and LDS doom and gloom scenario together and the table could end up like this
Thought they'd be too tired after their trip to Coventry. Not sure who I want between Cov and Hull, Hull got the extra 3 pts, however Coventry a game in hand plus the goal difference to maybe do Norwich for 6th. Going to be a draw isn't it!
Very difficult one, both have to play Ipswich, which 3 weeks ago looked difficult games, their chances of top 6 could all but be over by the time they play them, not so difficult now I'd say, especially Coventry who will be mentally and physically drained after Sunday.
We’ve seen with Boro what a team can play like when the pressure is off and there is nothing to play for. Hull fans won’t want to see us go up, I want Hull to be in with a chance when they face Ipswich, saying that I don’t want them in the playoff if we fail. Again this is where the fixtures are unfair, if Norwich win at 3pm Hull will feel deflated and will they be up for it with the 8pm kick off if Norwich win. We need that late kick off to be a grind for Ipswich, it’s a long trip late at night to be in Coventry playing 72 hours later
Ipswich didn't play this weekend, so why didn't they get the Friday game and us on Saturday, to give us an extra day after playing tonight
There is at least £500k extra prize money between 6th and a possible 9th That would be very beneficial to Coventry so you’d hope they continue to push
Ipswich fans are loving the two weeks off, personally I think two weeks is too long, then after two weeks off two away games in 72hours 8pm travelling from Hull. If we can beat QPR the fixture list favours us. Lose to QPR or even draw, suddenly Ipswich play all out for one win out the two knowing they’ve an easy looking home game, it’s madness
Boro are one of the better sides in this league whatever the table says. It’s also a derby game for them. They were always going to be up for it. Cracking game and atmosphere. I was in with the smoggies and it was very amusing to hear them whinge about the ref and linesmen all match,
Strange goals to concede. First one, initially the blame goes to Gnonto for losing the ball and then falling over in a woeful attempt to get it back. Then everything that could have gone wrong does. Deflection sends it straight to the forward, Rodon, no blame for me almost makes the tackle. Mes as usual comes for the ball and doesn’t make it / bottled it. Firpo could have cleared but was slow because he had no idea their forward was on his shoulder. Rinse and repeat for the second with Rutter losing the ball in front of the defence. Boro man still gets his shot away despite four defenders around him + a very weak hand from Mes. Third, simple ball over the top, Mes in no man’s land. If you leave the line you have to make it or stay put and make an easy catch. Our real problem is that the opposition are now getting attempts on our goal and unfortunately Mes has never had a high save percentage when that happens.
At this stage its all about getting 3 points. Hopefully we get lucky on Friday at QPR and get another win.
